anyone want a BFH beta key?

well i have a spare beta key from a tournament so i will give it to the first person who answers my question best :)

Rules:
ONE answer per person
no editing of posts
you must not already be in the beta
dont PM me with crap.

Question:
What was/is the best computer ever released.

I also posted this on another forum, so check HERE first to make sure your answer has not already been posted over there.

I'll check back tomorrow to see who has won :)

I believe this is not legal with EA. I'd have to ask a admin at TGN, but I do NOT believe you are allowed to do contests for keys that EA/Dice didnt approve.

That's a pretty bad question. How can you define what "best" is.

Best gaming
Best batch processing
Best real time processing
Best audio recording

Seriously, there is no correct answer since it's all a matter of opinion

yes opinion matters too and it was a bit of a random question but that is also one of the reasons for the question so that its not just a simple quick easy answer.

well this paragraph from oldcomputers.net sums it up:
Introduced in July 1985, the Amiga 1000 was created in part by Jay Miner, who previously designed the Atari 400 and Atari 800. The Amiga was originally designed to be a killer game machine, but it was so great that it grew into a real computer.

The Amiga 1000 was a quantum leap above any other system out at the time, as it included a 32bit pre-emptive multi-tasking GUI (Graphic User Interface), 4 channel stereo sound, 880k 3-1/2 inch floppy disks, and video modes which provided up to 4096 colors at once. The Amiga can even display multiple screens at different resolutions on a single monitor, all at the same time.

The Amiga quickly became a favorite for graphic artists and animators since its multiple co-processors allowed it to do complex images and animations that other systems, with the exception of expensive workstations, just couldn't handle.

Truly the most advanced and capable computer of the era. Unfortunately, due to poor marketing and lack of IBM or MS-DOS compatibility, the general public did not take much notice of it.


So not only was it technically a great computer but personally for me i used it for a great deal of my childhood mainly for games but later got into so much more once i added harddrives etc and started using AmigaOS :)....many good memories from the Amiga days and that is why it is the best computer, at least for me and many other people :)

Yeah, I understand that, but quite how that makes it the "best" is beyond me.

The question could have been something along the lines of "what computer made the biggest leap in technology and performance".

If you say "best", then people simply quote the latest and greatest parts.

i said "was/is"....so many people would at least agree it was the best computer at the time. plus i wanted to keep it slightly vauge to get a few more responses.

Not once does that say you can give them away via a contest. He did it via random drawing, not by a "What PC is best" Contest. I shall be contacting DICE Directly today to verify you can do this. If DICE or EA has no problem, then your fine.

Seems like a waste of time. He didn't sell it, he was good enough to give it away to the community.

I wasn't trying to argue with him, i was just interested what his definition of the "best PC was".

Because if DICE doesnt approve of it, its breaking their rules and Im sure TGN would like to avoid that.

Also on the best PC matter, some might argue the IBM Super Computers are the best, which in a way they are. Or the Roadrunner with the IBM BladeCenter QS22/LS21
122400 (Cell/Opteron). Its impossible to say any home PC is the best when a Super Computer out beats it.
