My only comment on this is that the whole, "I wanted to see if Crysis would run on my rig." excuse for pirating Crysis is complete ****ing ******** and it pisses me off every time i see it. And you know why? Because there is a DEMO for it...

And also, why would someone want to spend the time going to the store to buy a game, and then uninstall their pirated copy when they could just play their pirated copy?

Demos are rarely an accurate way to see how the completed game will perform on your system. Most of the time they use different texture compression and things to keep the download smaller.
If you want to see the difference between a demo and full version, try playing the demo for BF2. You'll have better performance in the demo and the gameplay is greatly changed since all of the patches hit. The same goes for UTIII, though not quite as much.
And pretty much every game I downloaded that I later bought I had saved the original .exe so all I had to do was replace the **** crack. So I put in the original .exe and put the disc in the drive. No need to uninstall/re-install. Hell, with Oblivion the only thing I did was unmount the ISO and put the disc in the drive. It didn't have any copy protection to begin with. I actually bought the cool collector's edition of that one, so I went back to using the ISO to save the DVD from scratching. I also use a mini-ISO to play BF2, and any other game I can use one for, so I don't have to swap discs all of the time.

Out of all the games i have bought none have crashed more than FFoW and Blacksite 51. The rest are fine, Crysis i have tried the Demo on my laptop worked great, bought the game put it on my desktop worked flawlessly, the only thing i did not like is the MP of the game.

With CoD4, well i knifed many people, you must be going to servers with hackers/cheaters, ofc Hackers are everywhere and they are cowards to play the real thing and get an honest kill.

BF2 , was and is still a good game imho especially if paired with a few mods as i do.

Because it's cheaper?

Simple, it's human nature to get anything as cheap as one can get it, (I am not implying a $1 Ferrari F-50, but a Ferrari F-50 that is originally for $200,000, sold for $175000 with the exact same functionality).

It's the same process with games, if you were to decide between a $50 SP game and a $20 SP game on the streets, most would obviously go for the $20 game, providing it has the same functionality. (They are the same game)
MP is a whole lot different, hence people bring in other ways of doing it (fake servers, work arounds etc.)

I never pirated games, although i have bought some fake copies when i was way younger than now at around 14yrs old, as soon as i moved into highschool i started buying genuine copies, even ltd editions, as i had benefits of online gameplay, ranks, not crashing asit was a genuine copy.

I do admit i did and still am torrenting movies as it not worth going to the theatres here in bahrain as they cut oof a lot of the good stuff but when at newcastle i go to the cinemas usually as its uncut!

In the music business i have not bought more than a few cassettes the rest are all downloaded via Limewire.

I do however not approve on piracy for games, especially the ones that are worth it, Orange Box for example.

You agree to dload illegal copies of movies/music but you despise those who dload movies! Hmm, you're a hyprocrite.

I dload music & movies simply because they are far too expensive. If the industries reduced the prices of their films, games & music albums more of us would buy their products but i refuse to spend £25 on a new dvd to find out its crap.

Exactly, I don't know why people don't understand that (or they just don't want to.) I will never pirate a game or music or movies, but I'll take some overpriced software from large companies any day. :evil:

Based on that Hellgate: London should have been an awesome game. Instead, it was a total waste of $50 and the company is shutting down as I type this.

Hellgate was made by some of the people from the Diablo 2 team. In theory, it should have been pwnage awesomesauce. They got greedy and tried to whore a subscription model with no tangible benefits. They failed miserably.

"Good" developers have been known to make horrible stinkers from time to time. A lot of games don't even have demos. After looking at Yahoo! Answers and seeing how many people asked how to make the graphics better on Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, you can see how many PC gamers have been deceived into buying games that are *** coated *** with *** filling. A lot of ports suck. Even Oblivion, made by a company expected to make a really good game by PC game standards, is an *** console port. The menus and game as a whole cater to lame console conventions. That same company is now making Fallout 3. I, for one, am expecting another consolized POS. I'm not even going to bother pirating that one, even though I paid for the Oblivion collector's edition. I also bought everything to do with Morrowind, as that game was PC first, console second. When games are made with Halo fanboys in mind, they are going to suck on the consoles and then eat HIV riddled *** on PC.
Really, though. Game makers need to put out demos for every game. Has anyone here played Legend: Hand of God? Let me spare you the pain. The camera sucks, the interface sucks, the inventory sucks. I am so glad I downloaded it before paying $50 for shovelware. I played about 30 minutes, the length of a demo, before quitting and uninstalling the ****ty game. If I bought a car that ****ty, I'd be demanding my money back. The fact is, if you buy most things over $50 you can take them back if they suck ***. The ONLY exception is computer games. Most places will NOT let you return a ****ty computer game, no matter how much you paid for it. EVERY GAME SHOULD AT LEAST HAVE A DEMO!!!
If I had tried most of my games before buying, I never would have paid $50 for them. Let's look at a list of *** games, shall we? Jedi Academy, Sin: Episodes, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Titan Quest (which had horrible performance, even on the system in my profile), Unreal Tournament III, Guitar Hero III, and Crysis. Oh, oh, does anyone remember Daikatana? You know, the game made by some of the brightest minds in the PC gaming industry? Some of those had demos, but they were like movie trailers. They showcased the 30 seconds of good game hidden inside a shell of ***. Every once in a while you find a bad game that is actually good. Most of the time you see "good" games that are straight ***.

No no no, lol i despise those that dnld games mate :P i dnld movies, but when at Newcastle i dont mind paying 5 quid as the movies in the UK ar full and Uncut like DVDs, but in Bahrain they ARE cut and shortened and subtitled, thats 3rd wrld countries for ya

Honestly if you read reviews BEFORE your purchase you could have probably stopped yourself from buying that. Oblvion was a fine game. Maybe you need to know what games you like to because i like both SP and Mp which you why i loved crysis and always will. But everybodies a critic. Honestly i think there is a enough resources that you seriously never need to pirate things. Remember to you made a choice so its your own fault anyways maybe really think the next time your at the store and see that game.

P.S:I have ****ty games I wasted my money on to its going to happen but like I said you made that choice.
