    Anyone miss being a noob?

    Anyone?

Now and again when I play this game, I get that feeling. That magic that I felt when I first started playing. I can't describe it, but one things for sure I don't get it nearly as much now that I'm an "experienced" player.

What's more, no other game I've played since (or prior) to my noob days of BF2 has been able to recreate it. This is a f*cking good game, and I've spent endless hours having a good time, but I can't help but wish I was back when I started.

No not really. Right, there was this certain magic about "wow this game is so cool" (mainly 2142 for me) but I really was a noob back then, it's a lot more fun to play when you know the ins and outs of the game and can defend yourself properly.

My mom has slowly started to play TF2 and I really recognize myself in that she can't aim properly and get lost in the maps the whole time :p Memories...

I know exactly what your talking about. While good games have come out this year,cod4 and tf2 namely, none of them seem to have that special quality, the epic factor I guess you could call it.It was the coolest thing when you could load a humvee with your buddies and go kill some baddies or load the blackhawk and go get a flag.

              I know what you mean.

At first all the maps are new and unexplored, and its has that feeling. I do miss that with BF2142: knowing all the best spots and the map backwards and forwards does seem to take away from a bit of the excitement.

However, I don't miss being a noob and I don't think the two are necessarily connected. You could be really 1337 and still have that "feeling" :p

I agree as well. After 3 years of playing BF2 there just isn't much left to keep me playing. Now I spend most of my free time modifying the game or even going outside (rarely). I usually only play on the nights when I wake up at 5PM and my dad is sitting at one of my computers battling. It seems like I've already encountered every situation, shot down every J10, and knifed every general; My main focus now seems to be the transport leaderboard.

You're experiencing nostalgia. Yes, I get that too...

I hate that feeling of nostalgia.... but I wouldn't go so far to apply that to a game.
I feel nostalgic when I think of old friends I used to have, this feeling isn't nearly as strong.

I think it has more to do with that its something fresh, new, and exciting: the intrigue of not knowing every pixel in a map. When you get to that point, the game eventually starts to get the feeling like you would get if you knew EVERYTHING. You'd ask yourself, "what's the point if I already know everything that's going to happen?"

Someone had to prove their 0wn4g3, didn't they :shakehead: .

I only find this game fun when I play with people I know. Sloi, skag, amongst others, you know what I mean :) . Playing by yourself in your own little squad is lonesome and boring.

I'd have to agree. Unless I'm playing with a friend, it starts to get boring.
