Attack Choppers - soloing

hi, i wanted to know how one can use the chain gun while no ones in the pilot seat, because the chopper keeps on flying sideways for me, thanks.

even when im trying to use tv.. .. when i exit tv, the chopper flies sideways, whereas in a couple of soloing videos e.g. [media]http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7928374404023264902[/media] , ive noticed that the chopper remains straight.

The chopper always goes sideways (specifically to the right) and there is nothing you can do to change it. Don't know where have you seen videos where the chopper doesn't go sideways, because it's only possible to make the chopper go straight when you are diving steeply forward, but I wouldn't recommend using TV at that time because you will most likely crash.
I can suggest turning the chopper a bit left, then switching to the TV seat and chain gunning/TVing when the chopper turns to your target by itself.

As in sliding or rotating? I've never soloed before, but it should be fairly easy to rotate a bit and fire when it lines up.

If you're good enough you do, especially in the Mi-28. That gun is deadly, and if you're a good pilot/gunner you can easily devastate with it.

Every one that posted in this thread besides me needs to uninstall.

1st. Don't listen to any of the people that posted in this thread besides me they have no idea what they are talking about.
2nd. You need to line your self up on what you are trying to kill with the chain gun ( notice were it says gunner view).
3rd. To stop it from spinning get in a sideways motion and keep going to the gunner seat then back to the pilot seat untill you kill what you are aiming at.
4th. Also make sure you change your view to the view were u only see your crosshair (it helps).
4th. Your now pro at solo chain gunning.

Rotate your heli approximately 45 degrees on its z-axis, 30 degrees on its y-axis and finally, around 45 degrees on the x-axis... you'll be in a fairly stable position to chaingun for a good 5 seconds.

x = nose left and right
y = nose up and down
z = think "rolls"

Wow, that video takes me back a few years. Heh...

Your heli's rotation depends on your initial position: if you tilt the body on its z-axis, you'll have less overall rotation. Be careful though, some positions can leave you dropping into the ocean or on the ground.

When you mean sideways you mean rotated or roll?

when you say 45 degrees on x-axis, the chopper is going to go right anyway so you would not get to see your target though right ;\, but what you're trying to say is keep it half way rolled.. .. with the nose slightly up.. .. and pointing bit to the east of the target?

It's the same concept as pointing leftward before firing a TV, so adjust your chaingun's position accordingly. The nose is pointing slightly downwards.

Also, you're not half-rolled, just one eighth in the direction of your circle-strafe, which should be clockwise. Your z-axis rotation is the key to a stable strafe... otherwise, you'll lose the position too quickly and require a seat switch to reset yourself.
