      Attacking can become annoying at some point.

        now that i know all it takes is 3 rounds from my trusty pilum to take out titan guns, i'm definitely an attacker. also, the lag gets me, even with 3gb RAM. *shrug*

            defence = points

            silo's = win

            attack = epic fail (for at least 1 of the teams :P )

                  Re: Titan mode: are you a titan attacker or defender?

                  I generally try to find the weak point, or the point where I'll be most effective, ie. most kills. Which is more often than not defense. I mostly run around behind and kill beacons and neutralize APCs/transports. If I do a Titan attack I'll try to set up a protected area and keep the roof clear or something. I rarely do the console/core grind.

                    Titan defense =4243
                    Titan attack = 185
                    So I'd say I'm defintely on defense.

                    And, I don't think RDX camping, PK camping, RDX shotgun camping, or any other type of camping on your Titan in defense is cheap or noobish. If I'm defending, my job is too stop you from getting in by any means neccessary. I'm under no obligation to let you just waltz into my Titan. :p

                      While their not really lame, their just really frustrating for me as an attacker. Not really because there effective "which they are against a lone attacker" but because I know that with just a little coordination from my team mates, you'd be dead and we'd have the console/core. Titan attack is all about coordination. Just last night on the NFB server me and 2 of my clan mates cracked the defense on hallway 1. 3 nade spammers, 1 medic spamming PK's and one determined RDX whore were all camped in the hallway. About 4 guys were coming in from the vents steadily, but fortunately about half our team was "helping" in the sense that they were milling around aimlessly in the cargo bay keeping the attention of the enemy coming from behind. Took me about 5 deaths, but finally we timed out the nades and got a good rush.

                      RDX bunny hoppers, shotgun/infanty scanners, nade spammers, or any of the various other types of titan defenders don't bother me as long as I have some back up.

                        Re: Titan mode: are you a titan attacker or defender?

                        Zarious, I agree with your thoughts on coordination taking out defense. If you have the right guys together, you'll only have to put up a bit of a fight before they're dead.

                        What I was referring to when saying that defense spamming is not noobish, is for the people who rush into a Titan and get killed by the same guy, in the same place, by the same manner over and over, and then call the defender a noob. I didn't say it, but I was specifically thinking of vent camping. About a year ago I discovered the joy of RDX/APM camping the vents. I don't know how many times I got called names by someone who insisted on jumping down my vent even after getting blown out time after time. All that takes to counter is 2 coordinated guys. One to stand at the top of the vent and drop nades or RDX, and one to go in underneath and toss nades or fire off PKs or RDX shotgun rounds into the other side. That's it, vent cleared. Or, if he can't coordinate with someone else, there are still 3 other ways into the Titan, and the odds of all of them being defended is highly unlikely.

                            I wasn't throwing any hate your way, just saying that I pretty much know why those guys are calling you lame. Not because what you're doing isn't a legitimate tactic (it totally is) but because you're probably frustrating the hell out of them. A good analogy is beacon camping. Whenever I run across an enemy beacon, I always drop what ever I'm doing and take a moment to... enlighten a squad of players on how to choose a different spawn point (just click on any of the non-green dots, it's easy really...). Alot of people call it lame for some reason. I'm completely of the mind that, if you're stupid enough to keep spawning on it, you deserve to die :) Same thing with vent camping. I almost always use the bottom doors to enter the titan, just to keep me from getting camped as easily. The only thing I don't really like (but can't do anything about) are the RDX whores in FF off servers. I really think the game is broken in that RXD doesn't do damage to you even with FF off. I try to play in only FF on servers to mitigate this, but they are getting fewer and farther between
