Battlefield 2142 6v6 League - Win a Game Server

While the primary announcement has already been made on the TGN Network, I just wanted to put a little reminder in the general forums.

Basically the Total Gaming League is hosting a series of Summer Mini-Leagues for a bunch of games in order to test rule sets, maps, and server configs. These will run for approximately six weeks, and it's extremely casual; there aren't even any playoff rounds.

The top three teams at the conclusion of each mini-league will receive a free game server from MyInternetServices.com for a time period of three months.

I'd love to see some of you guys from the TGN community form a few teams and have some fun. Once these leagues conclude, the new TGL website will be released and I promise, you'll want an account.

It's open to EU teams, but since we are based in the United States, there are restrictions in place to protect our primary user base. This is an excerpt from our rules:

1.4 International Team Eligibility and Restrictions

International teams are free to register, compete, and win cash prizes in this League. However, all international teams must agree to play on US based servers at the established default match time (9:30 PM Eastern US time zone). Teams within the US may coordinate an alternate match time and server arrangement as needed, but the TGL will not force US teams to play on international servers at inconvenient times unless they voluntarily choose to do so.

If a TGL event is specifically hosted for international teams, or if two international teams from the same geographical area are scheduled to play each other in a North American based TGL event, the scheduling and server restrictions above do not apply.

To be fair, it's only because we can't; it doesn't work with the latest patch.

BOOOOOOO... Promod is the reason 2142 TGL FAILED so hard; nobody liked it. Sadly it appears that the staffers don't realize that. If you really like playing "2142 Lite", download clan mod and go play in the EU :shakehead:

Harsh but true. Even Clanmod > Promod. Or you can play the way it was meant to be played with all unlocks, most of you should have unlocked everything by now. ('cept for maybe the NS unlocks, as people who don't have them have to field upgrade them and can't start with it)

ProMod was actually quite popular in competitive play, like James said though the 1.4 Patch killed it.
No one there will know what clanmod is, you better say you get 12 extra PKs otherwise they'll go blind from seeing a herzog instead of rockets.

I never understood the hate of ProMod. It didn't change any of the weapon/vehicle capabilities/damage/spread etc.

It gave all players equal load out options, and changed the map spawns so you didn't randomly spawn 100 meters away from the vehicles while the opposing team got lucky and spawned 10 meters away from their vehicles.

The BF2142 mini-league is to be played stock, without mods.

lol... The map spawns were OK, but the kits were a JOKE. wtf, recon can't plant beacons? That makes NO sense at all, seeing as recon is the "scout" and "infiltrator"... Overall it was a rather silly mod. If you want to destroy how the kits work, just go the full mile and play clan mod. Promod is simply "ClanMod LITE".

Fixed weapons sounds + more spawnpoint choices was the only good thing that came out of promod.
