What you're doing is focusing on a couple specific things, which I've seen many people do in the SC vs HC debate. Again, HC isn't perfect, but it is closer to realism than SC.
To make a counterpoint, however, if you get shot in the foot/leg, you no longer have use of that foot/leg. On the battlefield, that often means you're dead (either from blood loss or from more enemy fire because you might not get to cover). Because COD4 has no medic/rescue system, dying from a shot to the leg in HC isn't that far from the truth.
It's not about which is better...HC and SC (and OldSchool) are simply different, and they appeal to different players.
