Re: Hardcore? or Non
If everyone leaves it as voting what they prefer, everything should be OK.
Yeah, like that will happen.
I voted softcore because there are a TON of hardcore servers.

Softcore, it's balanced.
IW balanced the game for softcore, hardcore seems like something added towards the end of development that they didn't have time to balance. It seems far too apparent when you don't consider the damages of weapons when choosing a gun, and only think about the RoF and recoil.

IW designed the game around "Softcore" (regular) mode, including weapon/perk balance.Originally posted by Spik3d View PostSoftcore, it's balanced.

Hardcore is simply a "realism" mod built directly into the game. Many people enjoyed playing realism mods on previous WWII games like MOH and COD/CODUO/COD2, so IW decided to include Hardcore mode right in the box, so that those fans of the game could play it right away without having to wait for modders.
That's the scoop right from IW during one of the community events. So if people never played realism mods back in the day on previous COD's, then it's likely that Hardcore mode is not for them.

Hardcore isn't perfectly realistic, no...but in several ways it is more realistic than SC (lower health to simulate higher damage from bullets/falls, no crosshairs when shooting from the hip, no ammo indicators, no constant radar, no automatic warnings of incoming choppers/airstrikes...and as much as I hate the camping which is more often seen in HC, hunkering down (whether from fear or tactics) from a covered position to shoot at the enemy is more true-to-life than the run & gun style seen more often in SC).Originally posted by waaah_wah View PostBut isnt not more realistic than SC
That's all that many "realism" mods did back in the day - higher bullet damage and fewer HUD elements. It could be better/they could go further, but it is closer (even if just a bit) to actual combat than SC.
