Re: Hidden Messages?
Mods extend the life of the game which means servers, game sales, promotion, and it allows them to help push future products much the way BF2 got pushed into the 1942 community through the strength of mods (DC).But in all fairness, why would you release a game n then give someone so much good support that eventually they make a better game than the original, they're keeping it so the mods r bad compared to their creation, but in alot of facts the mods are takin games by storm.
I personally believe they changed their minds on it and made a business decision where they felt pushing their boosters would net a larger profit than the added value mods do. In any event, mods came to BF2 with much we wanted to do and were promised to be able to do... but very very little of it ever came to pass while the mods put in thousands upon thousands of hours into their product (I alone at PoE put in about as much time in the mod as I do in my full time job!!!) while holding out for the support we were promised.
If some modders are bitter then they have a very legit reason to be.Comment

Proof in point, I bought UT2004 purely for Red Orchestra after I saw it on some sites like ModDB etc.Comment

Re: Hidden Messages?
EA does suck. They butchered the SimCity series by releasing SimCity Societies, BF2142 was like a mod for BF2, etc. They care more about money rather than quality.Comment

Re: Hidden Messages?
in all fairness, they broke there promise and we have been pissed off ever since.... If I had the time I would go back over the the announcements they put out before BF2 was released and quote excatly what they said, but I have better things to be doing.
Ask any other BF2 modder and they will feel the same way more or less, Greasy_Mullet is a POE2 dev for example and look as his reply.
Your mod has been stuck in the "spotlight" for a very long time....since v0.6.
Tell ya what, I'll go ahead and email EA/DICE and let them know that they suck and that you no longer wish to be the spotlight mod.
I think it's time other mods were given the nod anyway....don't you?Comment

Re: Hidden Messages?
game-monitor doesn't have all the ports that people use to host their servers so therefore it always reports less than what the in-game browser shows.Comment

Re: Hidden Messages?
I am aware of that, what I'm saying is that DICE is a better game developer than most people give them credit for. Are there better out there? Definitely. But DICE created BF1942 and BF Vietnam on their own and started this whole series.Originally posted by |D|-JawsLOL......the DC devs helped to make BF2.....that's why Trauma was bought-out.:shakehead:
But back on the topic of EA. EA is a good developer by themselves (of course they are greedy, but so is the most of the rest of the industry), but their growing monopoly is causing their games to suffer (cough*Madden*cough) due to a lack of competition.Comment

Re: Hidden Messages?
this isn't about what Frag movie is the best lulz. That particular Frag video, while great and shows some great Euro skill, is old.
I posted the FFOW frag video to show that the gameplay in FFOW is very similar to that found in BF2.Comment
