...BF2142 is dieing?
i am. most of my clanmates, current and former, dont play it as much, and servers arent as full as they used to be.
your thoughts?

Check Game-Monitor and you will almost always see between 4-5,000 players on at any time. That number has stayed pretty consistent. We still see our servers populated each day. I don't think it is dying at all. Maybe not gaining new life, but not dying.

I feel that it is dying in terms of good servers. I could count the number of good servers with a sub 100 ping for me on my hands...

I just came back to this game cause I had an urge to play it for some reason, and as soon as I get all patched up and fix my not-starting problem, the first server on the list was a Knife Server.

:p But I'm not gonna say it's dying...

Actually its weeded out a good number (not all unfortunatly) of the "noobs". There seems like there are more skilled players (like ourselves) on the servers, and that alot more team work is being done. As for it dieing, I dont think it is at all. To be honest Im seeing a bigger drop in number of players on COD 4.

I'm surprised it's still here. 2 years is a long time in the PC world. Whenever I feel like a blast I don't have any problem finding a game. There are always pretty much a hundred servers to choose from and that is with all my filters set.

I really don't see anything knocking it out until BF3.

I bought 2142 on release played the hell out of it to!

I currently do not have it installed but I am sure it will be again soon.

Being a BF fan they always seem to get re-installed,speaking of reinstalls I have the urge to reinstall 1942 as well,Looks like 1942,bf2,2142 will always have a home here with me.

this game is still fresh to me. and getting a new computer will breathe even more life into it being able to play with silky framerate with high graphics on high population servers will indeed be a treat

if only it were tru in the leagues also ...they are deffinitely on the decline

I believe that the game has stayed pretty consistent as long as I have played. Players come and go, but when old players quit playing there are always new players to replace them. I remember when you first started playing, hooahguy; and it wasn't even that long ago!

This game was/is never as strong as it could have been because people kept playing / went back to BF2.

This game has always (just as BFV) suffered from fanboys that prefere the previous BF game... Somehow some people just hate BF2142 for no particular reason: "I don't like lasers and stuff". Those kinda things piss me off

But it's a great game and I think it will be around for some time even if I doubt there will be new players buying the game.

Heck, even BF1942 and BFV still have a few players.

i agree most people assume that because it has a futuristic setting (albeit a near future one ) it's immediately too geeky

Morale of the story: If someone asks you if BF2142 has lasers in it, answer yes. Chances are this'll turn him off, and it'll be one less n00b in our game. :)
