I said NS Pod Launchers. What makes you think that excludes NS APC Pod Launchers?

Oh, right. NS Pod Launchers covers all things in NS that can launch pods. So I guess the pod launchers on the Titans on the NS maps would be covered in the NS Pod Launchers group too. :shakehead:

Funny, but I'll bet everyone that read your NS Pod Launchers thought of the static ones on the ground in Leipzig and the ones by the PAC locked base in Bavaria. It's okay to make a mistake once in a while, even for the great Fingulfin.

APCs on all maps launch pods the same way, right? You implied that this was a NS-only feature and that would be the Pod Launcher...

ON TOPIC:

I hated that certain individuals would always use the same podding strats over-and-over to get to the back base and take it immediately. It killed 2142 for me and I left the tournament I was in because of it. It was lame and killed the game play.

WRONG! Even though you people might think that I was referring to the static pod launchers I was referring to both.

I have been swimming in the BF2142 code for the past 3 weeks, and I happen to know that the APC Pod Launchers used in NS are actually called "as_apc_pods_alp" and "eu_apc_pods_alp". They are located in "objects/vehiclesbp1"(Booster Pack 1). That's right, DIFFERENT pod launchers OMG?!?!1111

So incredibly sorry that I don't feel the need to spell everything out for you people.

i had some guy doing it on Highway Tampa (pre 1.5) he would pod from the titan and fly all over the map killing any vehicle he came in contact with.

I didn't notice alot of pod surfing after 1.4 or whatever patch it was. Maybe because I spend so much time searching for that "W" key, I'm rarly looking at the screen.

Actualy, I'm so glad that they got rid of it for good. Totaly ruind the game.

Going back to your, "Read the whole post" idea. There are no pod launchers in the EU Uncap on Port Bavaria. So he must have been surfing from the APC's.

the only thing that really bugs me about the rapefest is that everyone clustered in one spot drops my framerate and makes it harder to shoot the larger amount of possible targets. if that wasnt the case you just gotta think your way around it. if you die doing one thing you just gotta try different stuff and try to flank though when theres ALOT of people and a bunch of them are spamming it can be hard at times but then smooth gameplay is the biggest problem destroyer

speaking of which i just got a job in Yakima, WA if anyone knows what that place is like totally out in the desert im going to have a new computer before i know it yaaay

I have podded from titans and blown up tanks and aircraft with pods. As far as surfing its was fun to do, but I liked going sniper and cloaking my way out of things. I did it at in one game we were pinned at the church, I was able to cloak and run around behind the enemy at the pain in the arse wall facing the church that people chunk nades from and knifed 5 people lined up on the wall. I was so hyped from it I turned around and saw some more people and knifed 4 more. Unknowingly there were my squad members that spawned in on me and I got banned for exsessive TK. That was some funny ****! I learned a lesson there.

as this thread is revived. i saw a few guys podsurfing from beacon pods in camp g. they got all the way from one side of central to the other. i was in their squad but as soon as i asked something about the surfing i got kicked from it. i dont think it was a hack as they sucked anyway but they got each time away from the defenders and attacked from the back.
