So yeah, you can still pod fly. My squaddies and I were on DiG's NS server (with no admins, which is how this was possible I'm guessing) yesterday and there was a guy on the EU team that would pod from the bottom of the map (On Port Bavaria) all the way to PAC Main Spawn. I noticed him go whizzing past when we were at one of the middle flags and tracked him to his hiding spot, the large brown building next to PAC Main Spawn, I call it the T building. Anywho, after we killed him, we went to the roof and waited. Sure enough, he took the bait and for the next 5-10 minutes we killed him over and over as he podded like a freakin' titan missile straight onto the roof, straight into my Krylov sights/Squaddies Voss. I should have frappsed it, but I was lazy. Ran out of all ammo, including pistol, killing this guy and I was only 1 of 3 up there waiting lols. He really wanted to knife us for some reason ( I think cuz I got his tags ). Main bulletin point is that pod flying is still possible somehow. Lame. Discuss.

We already know, you can still pod surf from the NS Pod Launchers.

Pod surfing was one of the main reasons I personally stopped playing 2142 and its death is one of the main reasons I picked it up again.

It sucks that it's not totally gone, but hopefully it will stay in NS where it won't bother me lol.

I've never been a p***y and cared so much about a few pod surfers.

Most people don't do it, we already know its still possible from NS pod launchers, end of story.

Most people don't do it, we already know its still possible from NS pod launchers, end of story.

Maybe you're new to the game then or you just never played on infantry-focused maps. Either way, it was not a "few" people when it was at its worst and it only takes one squad leader pod surfing to destroy the flow of Camp G. :laugh:

Obviously not everyone knew it was still possible.

Why do you hate it? did you always play on the EU or something? It is incredibly frustrating to not have a confident team and not be able to push forward, Even with FAV's.

Pod Surfing was cool because you could ATLEAST get out of the Rapefest on alot of servers.

Its boring when PAC camps the spawn, and just Shuko through grates and toss nades. I liked podsurfing because they'd cap the back bases. Or when you were PAC and the team sucked and just camped you'd have a chance and not be in stupid places to fight 24/7 against EU.

Pod Surfing was cool because you could ATLEAST get out of the Rapefest on alot of servers.

The whole problem with pod surfing was that it completely destroyed the flow of any map. People used it as a crutch instead of using strategy and teamwork to defeat the enemy.

Another drawback was the super man pod surfers that would fly around the map, crash into your vehicle, destroying it instantaneously and walk away without a scratch.

the only thing that really bugs me about the rapefest is that everyone clustered in one spot drops my framerate and makes it harder to shoot the larger amount of possible targets. if that wasnt the case you just gotta think your way around it. if you die doing one thing you just gotta try different stuff and try to flank though when theres ALOT of people and a bunch of them are spamming it can be hard at times but then smooth gameplay is the biggest problem destroyer

speaking of which i just got a job in Yakima, WA if anyone knows what that place is like totally out in the desert im going to have a new computer before i know it yaaay

I've never understood those that will say that Spawn-camping is okay because if you suck so bad you can't get out of the uncap you deserve it. Then they turn around and say that they liked the pod surfing so that they could get past a choke point or out of the uncap.

I am glad that it is gone for the most part. I did ruin the flow on the map. The maps were designed with choke points in certain areas for reasons. I do wish they would have left just a little movement so that you could get on the roofs like they said they were going to.

We already know, you can still pod surf from the NS Pod Launchers.

Going back to your, "Read the whole post" idea. There are no pod launchers in the EU Uncap on Port Bavaria. So he must have been surfing from the APC's.

Unless for some reason APC pods are surfable in NS, but not in vanilla.
