I'm pretty sure if you got the email that you have been exposed. I think it was their database for the forums that got exposed, not some secondary list of beta tester accounts. You have to sign up to the forums to apply to be a tester, so....

I'm no forum backend code expert, but when you sign up you submit your details to their database.

I would guess they would have some kind of automatic purge for people who do not activate their accounts through the email activation, but if they still had your email address to send you that message then you're still in their database and you've been exposed.

I am signed up and activated on their forums, but I did not get a beta key. I got the security message as well.
