i think what they mean by buying clothes for ur dude is there will be in-game money like in combat arms for u to buy ur stuff with. and u will get money over time etc etc

its EA they most probably mean real money

no it's real money it's the upcoming thing they are also doing it in new MMO typpe games liek "air rivals" or soemething daft like that
you buy the game for free and even play for free (strange for mo's i know) and they rely on people paying for teh extra content offered to support the game.

atm though these are just experiments and it could all epic fail resulting in a revert to subscriptions etc ... we shall seeeeeeeee
