Re: Anyone Out There a Laptop Gamer?

I use a MacBook Pro for BF2142/BF2/CS:S, and it runs like a dream.

    I got the 15" 2.5 GHz with 8600M GT 512MB - BF2142 all maxed out running at at 60FPS.

Note: I run XP in Bootcamp and not the OS X version of BF2142

I was wondering how well that works as I was considering a Mac book pro when I buy another laptop, but that may not be for 2 to 3 years.

Mac Book Pro's are amazing, I have tried it for BF2142, just as a demo in a store, but have one for work related stuff.
        Pretty cool stuff.X

Re: Anyone Out There a Laptop Gamer?

I would never get a big laptop, it will always be slower than a well tweaked desktop counterpart. Also, I want my laptop to be mobile. Tell me a gaming laptop at 12" or less, with 4 hours or more of battery time and you might get me interested.

My workstation is by no means extreme in price, but I won't find a laptop with that performance anywhere. BF2 and BF2142 require insanely high cpu speeds for a stable framerate.

Yeah I use mine for work too. Some of the time

Btw, I compared BF2142 on XP and on OS X, and the XP version generally runs better (on the same machine), FPS are pretty much the same, but the XP has faster loading times and less lag.

However, the OS X version never crashed to desktop
