You can't say a game isn't modern just because it doesn't have every single element.

And transport vehicles only would be fun as well, no armor/attack choppers, but you could still get around with jeeps and Black Hawks.

^^Static AA is completely useless vs jets. The worst it can do if annoying them

....and that works well, i.e get in the aa lock,fire, the pilot flys off to get some cover and you can run away.

Yep. It can get annoying if the enemy team has 2+ guys manning the static AA sites. But thats the worst it can do:hmm:

Like a minigame thrown into the game that is fun at first but gets kinda annoying over time.

Static AA in BF2, well...

Basically you get in the little launcher, get a huge bullseye painted on you, then you have to sit there throwing rocks, be it super rocks with a minimal chance of blowing up a plane but still

the disappointment of not hitting anything is usually replaced 0.1 seconds later by a jet plowing you into the floor
