    Tired of Poor Performance

Alright, so I've had the game since launch and I haven't really felt the urge to complain about how low the frame rate that I have is for the spec of my computer. When playing online, I get an average outdoor frame rate of about 40-45 frames on less graphically intense maps. On outdoor maps where the graphics are more intense like Overgrown or Ambush, my frame rates drop to a range of 20-30 frames. It's playable, definitely, but more annoying than you would think for the spec of my computer. Alright, my computer specs:

    Intel QX6800 @ 2.93 Ghz
Asus P5N-e nForce 650i SLI motherboard
    4GB Corsair DDR2 800 PC2-6400
    2 x eVGA 8800 GTX SLI'd or not it doesn't make a difference
Creative Labs X-Fi Xtreme Audio Sound Card
    Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit

Now, does anybody have any idea why the frame rates I'm getting are so bad with my system? I've tried increasing fan speeds to no avail and I'm pretty tired of iffy performance from this computer.

Yea, Collins is spot on. Youre system should do just fine with CoD4.

I have it too (RAM is so cheap nowadays)

Well, you seem to have a really good computer, much better than mine so I don't really know what the problem is. I play on all highest settings 4x AA 1680*1050 with around 70-80 FPS...

Follow sgt.collins advice and get back to us if you can't fix it.

With a 32Bit OS your OS will only see and use between 2.75 & 3.5GB so you have wasted your money gettng 4GB with a 32 Bit OS, you should get 64Bit.

As for the problem, do other games play fine?

Have you defragged your hdd, scanned for viruses, adware, malware, spyware?

Get the latest drivers for your hardware/software.

              lol thats al you get?
When I was overclocking I got 90FPS on all high. But when I stopped overclocking I had to go back down to low's and medium's. And check out what I have...Nothing special at all:

              Asus M2N-E Sli
              AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200 2.1GHz Socket Am2
              Dual MSI 8500's Sli'd
2gb of Kingston HyperX dual channeled

Oh and I am running on windowsXP.

So...Firstly....Get ride of Windows Vista, Its not made for run a system. It's made to destroy it. Then click on the optimal system settings button in the Cod4 graphics menu.
Update all your drivers. That should help...
Also...You dont need that much pc power...2 8800's? come on.. And what the hell? 4gb of RAM. I say, Unecassery

You run a better system than me and I get 125 fps. Turn specular map off and you'll get an FPS boost of around 20.
