The 8800's are a good price right now, with the 9800's out.

    Enjoy it

        Don't have to be a A$$ 24/7 spitfire...

Post like that again, and I'm getting a mod on this. Because all you do is insult people and you don't do nothing for this community.
How long have you been gone? Search my last posts and tell me what you find insulting about them. You've got a nice reputation around here for being a "A$$ 24/7" too. I seem to remember you being in the center of quite a few arguments.

You could've just ignored me, and I wouldn't have had any hard feelings against you. "Not very good video, but thanks for the post!" IMO thats worse than saying what I did...

Why you gotta make everything a big deal dude? :shakehead:

It was a TWL match and stuns are allowed in TWL, but not in CAL/FGL/etc.

                      They are all different leagues...

TWL is known for being less-competitive, while CAL (Cyberathelete Amateur League) FGL (Future Gaming League) etc. are more "competitive".

Basically, they are leagues where clans can sign up, compete, and make a name for themselves.

TWL is a place that people just play for fun, (warm up for CAL-M / IM clans)

CAL is a place where you don't play around at, this is the time to be serouis and win. No holding back.

FGL is betweem TWL and CAL. Better place than TWL, they just need a better system.

TGL well... I rather not say on these boards.

Well, there was another sale and I caved...

...and picked up a 9800GTX. It runs 1680x1050, 4AA, max AF, spec map at around 70-80 fps with "soften smoke edges" disabled. I can already see players way off in the distance much, much better. I'm liking this so far. :)

Shoot dude... I could go with one of those.

I've gotta 7900, and it runs everything nice with no AA, usually a good 70-100 fps. But crap dude... Everything maxed out? and still 70-80? Thats beast.

How much did you get it for?

I could've got a Galaxy brand for $285, but instead I bought an EVGA model for $305 because they have a lifetime warranty, whereas Galaxy only covers 1 yr.

It's a very good card if you're not going over 1600 resolution. But it only has 512MB of memory, so if you go higher (eg. 1900 and above) and start cranking up AA, it starts to lose its punch. But otherwise, it performs around the same as an 8800GTX (which has 768MB memory), but for much less cost.

                              Here are some charts:
                              COD4: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...ew,1800-5.html
                              Crysis: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...ew,1800-7.html

I did a quick test of the Crysis free demo...I can run it @ 1440x900, 2AA, all details on High, and get an avg of 30-35 fps.

Dipped to 25 fps during a firefight, and got up to 45 during some areas while walking around. Going up to 4AA, however, drops the fps to 15.

Hmph ... sweet. Crysis looks soo good... but the gameplay never captured my attention.

Anyway, I was thinking of an upgrade after I work my summer job this season, i was going to go with a 9800. Thanks for the infoz!
