So really, how do you get into the Titan corridors? Because im failing at it. I used to be good, back in Oct b4 COD4 came out. Some buddies reinstalled 2142, and now where back to casual 2142 Titan and Camp G.

Before, I went Recon, stealth. But, with the Sentry gun glitch, that always fires.. It don't work out too well, plus all the n00bs who just throw frags.

Whats the best ways now days?

to have a decent squad with some assault who kit the defib. Somebody takes it on the chin by prepping a grenade and clicking to throw it while they're still blocked from view, while the throw animation starts, step into the corridor right when the grenade actually leaves their hand. Hopefully their aim is good and it lands in a good spot to take out the defenders, and the thrower can get back behind cover, but if not, one of the assaults can revive them.

This isn't a 100-effective-do-the-job-every-time, but I don't know any way short of hacks or glitches that is. Good luck!

I go as assault recently and if the corridor is defended by a few troops I can sometimes take out one or two with the Krylov. If the corridor is defended by supports with sentries and ammo hubs out spamming grenades every few seconds I don't even attempt it. To do so is pretty pointless and screws up your KDR.

If were doing well with most of the silos in our favour I will just hunt the enemy Titan and get some kills and heal and revive the cannon fodder rushing the corridor. Otherwise I get back on the ground.

Recon... Just cloak and bunny hop your way past the defenders. Nothing confuses them more than a "WTF MAH CONSOLE JUST BLOWED UP BEHIND MAH NADESPAMMING BACK!!11111"

M'eh... we break through 'nade spammers all the time. it's not easy, and it doesn't always work right away, but it's all in the timing... like I described above, stay out of sight/range of their 'nades as long as possible, start your own throw, get into the corridor enough to clear your own grenade throw at the very moment the grenade leaves your hands on it's way to them, and hope you can scoot out again before their own next grenade blows up at your feet (or hope that a friendly assault will revive you).

Like I said, though, it's really down to timing... not just your own, but theirs. Statisically, you're bound to catch a break long enough to get your own grenade off at them sooner or later, even if there's a half dozen of them in there chucking eggs. It's just a matter of how determined you are to stick with it until it works. *shrug*

Personally after 10 minutes, max, trying break into the corridor, I'll say screw it and go back to capping/holding silos. Of course, moments after I make this decision is when the remaining teammates on the enemy titan actually break their defense and get the console, LOL but whatever.

The best way is probably to squad up with some guys and take out the nade spammers with a few PK rockets and well placed nades of your own. You're sorta screwed if you're alone though.

If there's no APM's or RDX in the way and the defenders aren't too far away, I usually throw a nade and Clark rush Works pretty well if you get them when they aren't prepared. Then go on with destroying the console with your Clark-RDX shotgun, or camp the corridor and wait for the next best recon guy to come and save the day.

We call the 'nade that takes out a majority of the defenders "The Magic 'Nade" (sorta like hitting "The Sweet Spot"). All it takes is say, two assault players and a support... Add a recon in for good measure and you shouldn't have any problems. Its considerably harder if you have 2-3 nadespammers + 2 RDX+APM dudez, but its still do-able. It just takes a coordinated squad (which are rare, but meh.)

The problem is that it seems to be the pattern for >=48p Titan servers. You won't find shortage of players who are dedicated defenders of their team's Titan.

32p is Titan server is much better. A good team can actually go through all the defense and blow all four consoles. The problem is, I am usually opposing them! :dead: Nevertheless, 32p Titan maps seem to be quite vacated...... Nah, still go on those 64p servers, just don't go on the Titans.

Best way to punch through is usually with a grenade or three of your own.

To start, if you're dealing with the upper consoles, they can be destroyed without even entering the corridor with a steady stream of grenades. Don't bother breaching the upper corridors if there are more than two defenders - just hang back and lob some charges in.

With the lower consoles, the trick is to time your entry into the corridor and the toss of your grenade so they are nearly simultaneous, the objective being to throw the grenade before you're killed by the spam. Even with three grenade spammers working in perfect unison there is still a sufficient opening, I've learned. Assuming the defenders bunch up - which occurs in about 99% of rounds - one grenade, the so-called "magic nade" according to Fin, can take them all, or most of them, out. Even if it costs you your life (it is more and more likely to the more grenade spammers are present), the ensuing confusion is usually enough to give your team the upper hand. Even if there are 4 defenders present and you don't get all of them, the loss of 2 or 3 of them nearly always opens enough of a window for the remainder of your team to move in behind you and take down the remaining defenders in the chaos.

If you're defending a Titan corridor, the golden rule is to vary your ranges. Don't all hide behind one barricade, and don't all operate from the same depth. A multi-layered defensive structure is far less vulnerable to counter grenade work.

Silos, go for them silos, you can get defend points and capture and "taking away from enemy" points, but maybe pop a ammo hub up in a corridor before and its easily 20 points in a round for free from that, plus before the titan opens up....

Lotek reminds me of a very good point: Sometimes the best way to breach a ridiculously stacked Titan corridor is to realize that you don't need to breach it at all. If a team is consciously devoting 8 players to defending a single corridor, they have 8 fewer players to be competitive in the silo game and attack your Titan with. If a corridor is too heavily stacked...don't bother. Go grab a silo or two. Let those five support soldiers sit there and lob grenades at nothing all day. Your 4 or 5 silos will win the round all the same.

Ok, with experience, I have found effective ways to get in the corridor. when first assaulting, I used to bring LMG with RDX shotty, but I have switched to a new tactic. Bring the Zeller with RDX and APM. Walk inside untill you can see the surrounding wall, if there is RDX, either shoot it or blow it up. Then, prone and slowly strafe in fully zoomed and pick off any defenders and there you go.

If the hall is being nade spammed, you have two options. If there is only one spammer, rush in after a nade blows and take cover behind something and take out any defenders, bunny hop for sentry guns, if you have a squad at your back, the best thing to do is to all rush in after a nade, there will be a high chance they will be able to overpower the defense after in. If the Hall is just being totally bombed, either go take silos, or convince the whole attack to cease, and wait 5 minutes for the defenders to wear off. This works so well its funny. This is how our clan does it. Have one person stand just outside the entrance to the corridor. All the sentries will lock onto him(i guess that is one good thing about the sentries shooting through walls) While he keeps the sentries busy, time your grenade spam and have 1 person rush into the hall on a suicide run so recon players blow their rdx. After the rdx blows, have the rest of the squad rush in. Works almost everytime.
