    Tell that to Argamenon.

Besides, its not the hitting that counts, MiG is vastly superior to F35B and pretty much makes the F35B fly in "hit and run" style. Just ask Doggy, and I think Skags can attest to it aswell.

I've flown against a couple of pilots who are a good match for me when in a MiG vs MiG "one on one" situation. Yet I've flown against them on a wake server in the F-35 and I've managed to go unscathed for the whole round. If I'm on the ball and with luck on my side, I can even get the drop on them as their repairing or going on a bombing run.

Of course, if they know I'm in the air, they'll go out their way to annoy me and thus make me thoroughly useless. (i.e, make me stay at 800ft for the majority of the round)

I guess what I'm trying to say is that you can't talk about two "equally skilled pilots". Flying the F-35 is so different from flying the J-10 or even the MiG. It requires a completely different set of skills, so there's no way you can compare a persons skill in a F-35 to another persons skill in a J-10.

Yea, this has gone offtopic Then maybe I will ask another question.

What do you do in F18 against a skilled MIG/J10 pilot? After maybe missing all 6 missiles he will still chase you with MG because F18 is slower at turns and it has a shorter boost. The only way is to fly high in the sky where you lose control and hope to stay inbounds

Hit the breaks, and while doing so, get creative. F18 is the only jet that can get away with it consistently.

Have done that, works only 1-2 times a round :) Once you do that and J10/mig flies past you he will expect this trick next time he is on your tail

Yes for F35B, no for F18. For F18, it works every time.

Before I say anything else let me make sure I understood you right. By hitting brakes and being creative you mean throttle back 100% while I doing some moves like loop, sharp turn, barrel roll etc?

Re: where to stand to always get in jet/heli

There are some datasheets somewhere around here (I believe they were made by Chris) that show, amongst other things, the time it takes for the different jets to slow down.

The F-18 has far better throttle reaction than the other jets.

I wouldn't rely on using this, but it's a useful trick to now if you're constantly getting "out-dogfought" ...so to speak.

Correct, but by "creative" I dont mean doing stupid maneuvers to keep your opponent in shot. Anyway, like I said, F18 is the only jet you can do that consistently. It has helped me out immensely. It just slows down that much faster than any other jet.

Well, I would like to see how creative you are but most of the times it won't work against me :) 1-2 per round, then I am aware you are a pilot that does it and I am always ready

Series of scissors and rolling scissors to get you close to me and then throttle down. Even if you do catch up to what Im doing, MiG and J10s engines are a whole of 3+ seconds slower, and you need to account for the human reaction time aswell. And you wont react until you see me slow down. So the F18 always has a 3+ second advantage. The only way you can prepare to not to get caught by surprise, is to stay back, and guess what scissors are for?

Like I said, this kind of reliability only goes for F18, but its a marvellous piece of machinery for those who like to slow down and pull a Maverick.
