Jesus!! Would hate to be PAC there..the main problem is that you'll get a couple of people wandering in, and more will then follow.

UCB raping is lame in smaller servers, but anyone here for pod-surfing to the back of the base in patch 1.25/64p servers and ganzing them from the boat?

i cannot stand it when players podsurf... its worse then baseraping. Provides a totally unfair advantage

There nothing better then a good fight between two teams. I love it when a round is close and any side could win. I live for them rounds.
Yep. While I try my best to help my team win, it's the fights and battles I get the most enjoyment out of. Nothing more boring than completely lopsided rounds. Even if I'm always on the winning team.

That's a nice way of putting it. You're thinking of the 2142 community as a whole, and not just your personal stats. Very 'sportsman-like', which seems to be somewhat lacking in general in online games.
But yes, points are nice, but the fights are the meat of the game. It's kinda like the old dogfights in WW1. After a good, long duel, if the losing pilot survived, the winning pilot would sometimes find him, shake his hand, and thank him for a good battle. Wish we could do that in 2142. :salute:

I will, however, "camp" capable flags/silos as long as needed to take it over, in my mind, thats fair game. It's mine(d), they just don't know it yet. Allthough, I don't make an effort to camp it, but if someone happens to spawn in - then it's plus one for me.
That's the approach we take with our servers. Uncap Rape just isn't allowed at all. As far as cappable flags go, if you want to have a couple of guys watch the spawn points while the others cap the flag, that's just smart game-play. However, someone better be on the flag to take it and not just a couple guys farming cheap points.

My opinion: Do whatever the fudge you want, provided you aren't hacking or glitching...

There is NOTHING I hate more than having a round drag on forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever while you wait for the less than proficient enemy team to make its pathetic attempts at your first flag. Having the game be 90% ticket bleed is no fun IMO... Well, getting baseraped isn't fun either, but hey its your own stinking fault. If you failed at getting past the initial defenses, just disconnect and find a server with better players.

I don't know about you, but lets be honest with ourselves... Do you TRULY care about other people's stats? Chances are, ESPECIALLY if you don't even care about yours, you don't. Saying that you do is hypocritical... And if you truly do care about their stats, think about what they would do in your situation Mr. Jesus H. Christ. Thats right, crucify you.

                :p

First, the round does not drag on forever. It actually will go by faster than if PAC takes the first flag quickly and it turns into a battle with no ticket bleed.

Second, if I was just looking at it from the standpoint of a random player pubbing on whatever server I felt like, then maybe I would take your view on it. However, nothing kills a server faster than base raping. But, to each his own. There are servers out there, or used to be I really don't know anymore, that allow you to do anything you want, including camp your whole team in the uncap "shooting fish in a barrel." The players that want to base rape can just go pay those.

The logic behind baserape is that the PAC is too lazy, uncoordinated, low ranked (or a mixture of the three) to take the harbor, I was working under that assumption. The round goes by VERY quickly if the EU team then moves in and obliterates the opposing PAC.

But yeah, I do see from the eyes of a pubbie. I play with my clan, but we spend considerably more time "raiding" other clan's servers than starting our own. When playing on our own *titan* server, if one team has most of the silos we all just sit in the middle of the desert goofing off while the other team takes silos. Yep, to keep the server going. HOWEVER, we don't force people to let the other team having stuff... We request it sometimes, but we don't enforce it.

I'm not saying that I don't follow (or don't understand) no baserape rules, I am saying that my personal preference is to do whatever it takes to win the round the quickest...

PS: In a Harbor vs Toll, PAC has the advantage :hmm:

yeah i almost get kind of annoyed wheh the PAC team on campG is really bad especially if there is some "no baserape" rule which is why i like to play as PAC more because if EU sucks really hard we can just cap dem off deh map.

Implying that it's smart game-play to watch the spawn points of a flag under neutralization, but not to watch the spawn points of an enemy's origin is moronic; when the enemy is cornered, you should be aggressively containing them there, not standing behind imaginary lines of fair game.

The majority of the populace in your servers don't join a squad, don't spawn on their squad leader, and perform roles that are not complimentary to the team and more importantly their squad leader's primary function: to aggressively conquer the enemy's territory. These players deserve to be slaughtered at their spawn point simply because it's an appropriate penalty for their inaction.

It is not the fault of the enemy team for beating you senseless, it's yours.

Now of course, you don't have to reasonably justify any of your rules. An obvious example would be myself, who is still banned:

I know it's a fantastic concept, but populating your server based on a set of reasonable rules would encourage a better game to be played. And if you don't agree, you're wrong.

The problem with allowing full base rape is that it will empty a server out. Most players will not spawn in if they know they will die right away. My clan allowed full base rape of the pac uncaps in camp g, and in time we found that the server was not staying full. We changed our rules so that players can shoot into the uncaps, but cannot go down into the uncaps, unless they are recon and are destroying assets. This way the pac has a chance to spawn at the back and fight there way up to harbour. I belive base raping is part of the game, if not ea/dice would have put a time limit on entering the uncaps (sort of like leaving the map), but in order to keep a server populated you need to put restrictions on it. Keeps the noobs happy .

I'm not as learned nor as eliquent as my friend above so I'll simply say this....

If you can't keep yourself from getting base raped YOU ARE A FUKING RETARD.

Maybe you should get off yer homo sniper demo pack hopping gayP mine laying friendly fire off server playing *** and go cap a flag. Maybe pick up an assault kit, get some fukin revives. Quit fukin campin in corners with yer ganz and your sentry gun and do something. You useless pieces of **** who cant make it out of yuor main cuz yer too stupid to use team work deserve everything you get.

Join a squad spawn on your squad leader kill and revive. Thats how to not get spawn raped.

                              Figure it out!

Preach it my brotha, i agree 110% that if you play the game the way it was designed to be played then there would be no rape, hell i get it in some servers trying to get out of the uncap but im not bitchin about the other side im getting pissed at my side playing like a buncha pansies wanting to snipe from the uncap or RDX bunny hopping instead of fighting and getting a flag, they do deserve to be beat down
