Hahahahaha sniper... you live in Austrailia... What do you expect with the hit detection? When your ping is 200, hell yea you'll be hitting them after they've already run by, and getting headshots when you aim five feet behind them...

We also don't use hit boxes here in CoD4... thats a CSS thing... (Most prominent , if bad :P, hitbox game out there... )

great guide Kodak (can i still call u Aerialz) i have one query, you should specifiy the differances between hardcore and softcore games, cos a hardcore play could read this and say that some of you guide is wrong from their point of view. now i know you only play SC now, so that why i didnt have a problem with it.

Alright, I'll go back and add some details about hardcore game modes. Anything you'd like me to add in particular?

And yeah, you can still call me Aerialz, a lot of people do :/

Well Most Bolt actiions in HC are 1hit kills with out Stopping power, so maybe you could suggest some good kit loadouts for HC players

actually the other way around .. id have to be shooting infront of them in order to hit them.. not behind them.

Oh, well then thats just either your crappy xbox CoD4 hit detection, or you actually properly lead your target on someone running or moving forward.

How does the R700 have High Recoil and the M82 only have Medium?
They seem to have the same amount, am I wrong?

i dont play it on the xbox anymore i got it for pc (finally).. yeah leading a shot while running is ok.. but im talking about they will be standing perfectly still and i can shoot them directly in the body or head from about 20 meters away and it wont even register as a hit.. yet i can sometimes shoot up to a foot off my stationary target and kill them.. also i only play on australian servers.. so my ping is no more than about 70.. however people who play on the servers sometimes have a ping of 200+.. even though when shooting a stationary target ping won't effect it.

so the only thing i can rule it down to is dodgy hit detection..

                    Re: Sniper Guide

Sniping is an artform, a highly specialised side of the game that has a need for a high set of skills. The guide is great, but more and more Im interested in guides that contain practice tips, specifically a list of tasks one can practice in order to hone those skills. For example, in a game like COD, dragshots are crucial. How does one practice those? If you practice your trade wrong, youll never learn, and with proper practice techniques you can save time significantly and start enjoying the game faster.

I havent actually been focusing myself on sniping because becoming a good sniper is like going through hundreds of hours of hard work and I dont find the trade enjoyable enough to commit myself to that.

I'm working on a video about dragshots and the like. I'm finding it hard to properly explain it in words, so I'll edit the topic and post when I've finished it.

CS is quite wonderful for learning drag shots, or flick shots if you will. I never used to snipe like that, and now I do it in every game I play. Its makes you uber.

Its all about, flick, then time the amount of distance between where your crosshair starts as soon as you scope in, to the target. Its not something you can do on your first try...
