    Field,

have you installed any drivers for your new graphics card? If you haven't, the computer might not recognise your new card and actually playes the game with an onboard gfx card. And that ain't pretty.

Btw field why was that the highest voltage you could get for your PSU?

If he is plugging his monitor into the card, it has to recognize it

BTW, Field, don't get any 9600. You can get the better out of an Over-Clocked 8800GT. The 8800GTS just blows them out of the water... Its not worth the cash.

With my 8800GT I was able to run the game on all high AA@4X and still get 50-80 FPS... With my GTS, I am able to run everything on high AA@8X and get 80-100 FPS easily... I think you are probably having driver issues, if its not the PSU thats killing it.

I swear the GT is better than the GTS....?

Anyway, it does recognise it but when I changed cards I got the same fps until I uninstalled and installed new drivers.

well i went and got a 9600GT because it required a 400W supply and i got a 405W so i might be pushing it but the game runs exactly the same as when i had the 7900..

yeah 1 question about power supplies, does it matter what kind of power supply i get for my comp as long as it fits in the computer and has all the right connectors? or are there other issues i need to know of?

Power Supplies are easy to shop for, most of them are universal... I recommend going to Newegg and reading reviews, some of them have short wires (although as long as you don't have a huge case that shouldn't be a problem). But no, you don't really have to worry about it.

                          I can say going from a 7600 to a 8800GT i got only 10 more FPS

But my processor sucks <creative word here>

But Call of Duty is maxed out getting 91 FPS

You said when you run single player everything is nice and smooth. Are you sure it's a framerate issue and not a lag one.

Open the console & type in renderer.drawFps 1 using proper case. This will show how many actual frames are being generated per sec.

What operating system you running? Do you make sure to switch off other programs when your playing, especially p2p. Is someone else sharing you net connection.

i always type in renderer.drawfps 1 almost every time i play just to see how my frames are

i will generally get between 30-50fps on most conquest maps. Almost every time i go onto a populated titan or 64 player map in a clustered area i will get between 10-25fps

i am running 32 bit WindowsXP

I have around 33-36 background tasks running when i am playing. most of them are windows related, 1 of them is for my mouse and there are a few for McAffee antivirus software that i have. i have heard McAffee is intrusive and hogs recources but with the RAM that i have i kind of didnt think that it would be an issue. im not sure how to actually disable McAffee and turn it back on. even when i go into administrative tools/ services and physically shut it off it is on when i come back and check on it in task manager.

                                what is p2p

i am not sharing my internet connection. I have pretty fast internet (3000kbps upload and 800kbps or so download. i never play on servers higher than 100 ping. i am usually on servers with 30-60 ping.
