    Scroll to Shoot - OK?

Just as the title says, do you think the use of a bind-to-shoot/scroll-to-shoot setup should be allowed? Personally, I use my mousewheel (scroll-to-shoot) with my pistol. I'm not amazing with it, but it definitely helps. However, after playing in a match the other day with a team who used scroll/binds to shoot faster, I've begun to rethink scrolling.
A few members of the opposing team used G3's with binds and scrolls to shoot unbelievably fast, possibly faster than most assault rifles. This combined with the lower recoil of the G3 posed some serious problems and became increasingly frustrating - getting picked off from very far distances with amazing accuracy/high volume of fire.
So, do you think that it's alright to use binds/scroll to shoot? I think it is acceptable when used with a sidearm, as it does take some practice - but for rifles such as the G3, it seems just a bit too devastating.

Like you said a G3 with it is devastating but scroll wheel is only a use on single shot weapons, and there is not many of those. But yes the G3 is a pain but they run out of ammo quickly so unless they have sleight of hand get them then. The G3 is about the only weapon the benefits from it. But when I try the mouse wheel fireing I seem to failbecause it takes a couple of clicks of the mouse wheel turning to actually fire one shot...

I think it is okay but I do not use it. I use auto's so it doesn't matter to me, but I know people who use the Barrett as a CQB weapon with scroll shooting and it does suck

The key to using the mouse wheel is to scroll it slowly, it fires much faster than scrolling it quickly for some reason. I do it sometimes with the G3, but its pretty useless on the M14 due to the recoil.

Tbh i find a regular assault rifle/SMG to be more reliable, but i can see why it was frustrating in the OP.

Yeah, the trick is to do it slowly, which takes practice because it's habit to click/scroll quickly. Still, I think it's more fair on a pistol (shorter range) than on the G3 (long range accuracy)

I tried it out before, and I actually did worse with it on in some situations. I have never really came across someone who did it and actually killed me tons of times with it on, so its not a problem for me. Plus, it is banned in competition so why practice with it on? Just learn to click really fast, it will help you in other games anyways.

IW could have easily made PB kick by default for scroll wheel binds, but they did not. Nor did they code it out of the game. I think its fair game, but in pubs only.

I dont use any scrolling for faster shooting, but I do use the scroll to turn a multi shot weapon into a single shot (M16 still can not).

We did have to tell a clan member to stop using it because it was so blatant and pubbers were sending us emails saying they hacked. That was pretty bad. People would also leave the servers so it just got really out of hand. He is just as good a player without it, so it didnt bother him too much.

He would make the G3 be like the AK and his pistols would fire so fast you would think they were automatic with double tap. Its surprising how there is no "delay" built into the weapons at all. He could make any gun have a ROF almost like the P90.

Don't forget about G15 macros; they are much more effective than the scroll wheel. I have one that I use for the 50cal; it's actually pretty fun to unload a clip point blank in a second or two.

I think it would be a good idea to implement a delay in a future patch though, as it gives a significant advantage over people without a macro or scroll wheel binds.

I can click almost as fast I as I can shoot with my scroll wheel so I don't really see the point. It's just annoying imo, especially as I've put my melee button as a click with the scroll wheel.

Key, I don't believe it's banned in CAL, maybe CEVO and other leagues, but I don't believe it's against the rules, at least in CAL.

Yeah, some people can click pretty fast, but there's a point where the bind/scroll user is so used to using it that they can accurately unload their clip in under a second (literally under a second)

It's banned in CAL, also in TGL I believe.

Hmm, well, I haven't used it in any matches - good to know that though (thanks for the link). Weird that we scrimmed a CAL clan that almost entirely used scroll/binds to shoot.
