I was playing as commander and this one annoying player was getting pissed off as I wasn't playing his way as I was helping other team members and he was pissed when he didn't get what he wanted exactly when he wanted. You would have thought this was his career or something. I think some have no life and take it way too seriously.
Is it me or do some people take this game way to seriously?

Yeah some people take it very seriously. But in what way I don't understand?
Such as I take teamwork VERY seriously and if the squad doesn't listen to my orders, doesn't stick with me: They get kicked out, simple as that, (and I don't care if they don't speak English). -
Same here, Brad.
Or sometimes when people don't follow the server rules, I take those serious as well. First I ask a few times, if they don't listen then it will get more serious...Comment

well tbh, the game is at its best and most enjoyable if you are playing it seriously. it really extends the brilliance of online gaming when you are part of a well-oiled fighting machine.
people that cheat and grief are 'mucking around,' but they could do that offline and not interfere with others who want an experience that is derived from the collective. try playing footy where one of your teammates just hoofs the ball out of play whenever it goes near him. "hey he's just messing around!" - yes, but hes a ****ing ****stain
ps- not saying the guy you were commanding was in the right, but for bf2142, fun and seriousness go hand in handComment

pps- if you are just going to mess about, make your own locked squad called 'pointless tard' just so there's no confusionOriginally posted by RichardDawkinswell tbh, the game is at its best and most enjoyable if you are playing it seriously. it really extends the brilliance of online gaming when you are part of a well-oiled fighting machine.

I play for fun, but at the same time there are things about the game I wish people would take a little more seriously. I'm usually found in Titan mode and i'm sure all who play have been in the situation where the enemies Titan shields have dropped long before your own teams shields.
That's not my problem. My problem is when their shield drops the entire team with the exception of a select few who board the enemy Titan just to meet 2 corridors of nade spammers and think they are gonna make a difference. I don't understand why people can't grasp the concept of "holding the silos is an easy victory".
The other day I was in that exact situation. Their shields dropped while we still had about 75% shields left, we had all the silos, the entire team boarded the titan leaving the silos undefended. The enemy team sent a full transport of players to cap each of our silos. Our Titan shield fell, the enemy team sent two transports to our undefended Titan and won the round.
It is aggrivating because the players from my team that were on the enemy titan didn't seem to care that they were making ZERO progress.
I was trying to hold silos and made my way back to defend my Titan but by the time I made it from silo 1 on Highway to my Titan, it was already destroyed.

Some people do take the game way too seriously. I was in a squad and thought "great, they actually use their mics." But all the squad used their mics for was to ***** about stupid stuff. Who cares, just shut up and play! This guy was screaming that I was an idiot for reviving him when he wanted to switch kits. Well sorry, I can't read your bloody mind! Reviving is generally what medics are supposed to do in the game. Most people would be screaming about NOT being revived, normally. If you are going to use your mic, use it to communicate beforehand that you don't want to be revived, not afterwards to ***** about me serving my purpose on the battlefield. I just hate it when people use their mic to ***** instead of using it to tactically play the game.Comment

I think you should play to win, but some think it is their job and just get way too uptight about it.Originally posted by FixxxerI play for fun, but at the same time there are things about the game I wish people would take a little more seriously. I haven't had that honor to hear complaining *knocks on wood* so far any squad that I've joined has been pretty good by using it for the reason it was designed. Some people do take the game way too seriously. I usually type DNR when I don't want it since I don't have a mic. Common sense would tell you to stop reviving people when they're in a titan cooridoor that's nade spamming :) Less they want the revive points, but still.
