people that mutiny for no reason

i consider myself a good commander. I always deploy UAV's where the action is, drop supplies to vehicles and troops w/o being asked, use orbital strikes wisely, and always spot enemies for people when i can't UAV. Every so often i will fight when needed, but for the most part i am in the overhead view directing squads where to go.

What bugs the living crap out me is people that mutiny for no reason what so ever. We could be winning and up by 100 tickets and people will start a mutiny I can understand if you have been asking for supplies for an hour or i have not put up a single UAV, or i continuously bomb my own troops with arty. Even worse if the mutiny actually succeeds nobody will even take commander, WTF is that?

So i guess my question is why do people mutiny a good commander? Is it because they feel like the commander is gonna get the (worthless) gold medal at the end of the round? They don't like commanders spotting people? Don't want the commander to get double points?

One last thing i was playing last night and commanded a round and we won a close battle. I did score the most points and took the gold. The next round i applied for the commander and it told me i got beat my a higher rank. When i look at who got commander, the persons rank was alot lower than mine. I am a brig and he was a warrant officer or something like that. How does he outrank me for the commander posititon?

    It's the internet, still.
But it's possible that they want the gold medal. Or they probably want the double points when winning the game. Or... Commanding is boring anyway.

Just as bad as that, is when squads blatantly ignore your commands. Tell them to 'strike this position' at the far side of the map is likely to have many 'no can do's' - but when they are stood right next to the silo, ffs?! AND when they are under no immediate threat?

I tend to listen to good SL and good commanders. If they are basically issuing commands without much thought, I either leave the squad or go lone wolf.

When that commander and squad function works together though - it is shear brilliance. Some of the best memories I have of 2142 is with a squad with brains, defending a point to the very last. Even if we've eventually lost the capture point under shear weight of numbers, the game experience has been superb.

think you answered your own question, they want you to fail and know that they are the reason you failed. its nothing more complex than that i'm afraid :/

I don't know. People are idiots. I think people just get mad sometimes that they didn't get picked for the commander position. Mutiny a commander who is actually doing his job = lame.

thats what i think as well. Most of the time when i do see one its at the end of the round.

If the commander does everything to help the team win then they deserve the double points.

That isn't right what you say FLOT and killerus..
Because you must be commander for ?!?Minutes to get double points, so see for your self, being commander at the end don't works.

I just finished a round where I dropped uav, supplies, and arty all within seconds of the game starting and sure enough some dumb**** mutiny votes me immediately. Not like I wasn't doing my job, he probably was just mad that I'm higher rank and got picked. Then he has the nerve to tell everyone to push page up.

I squad lead all the time, and the only time i don't follow orders with the commander is if he's telling me to leg half way across the map when i'm in the thick of an assault and winning the battle. sounds to me like your problem is noob SL's.

                            Don't shoot the commander

Just played a quick Suez as commander, we're about 2 minutes in and suddenly someone pods in the bay and shoots me in the head. I thought it was a cheater but I managed to grab a screen (Eagle-CH). I spawn back in the bay to continue, I spot him again and just sit there watching him, as soon as I turn to the commander's map he shoot me again with the pistol, so I nail him down anyway, then his buddy comes and kills me instead (X-585-X). Then as they realize I'm not gonna let them continue this, they just spend the round stat padding shooting and healing each other or ramming someone with the gunship. I can't believe the absolute void some dudes carry in their empty heads...
