I use the PKM exclusively with the support kit, but I use the HK21 if I'm playing on a map which has it.

Well, like I said I don't have that much time with the M249, so please correct me if I'm wrong which you did.no. just no. if you 'spray and pray' with any of the support guns chances are you couldnt hit a barn door.
if you have a proper understanding of them, as i have eventually come to have, you should find that you can use all of them effectively. although the MG36 ironsights are out, as long as you fire in controlled bursts, just like all the other LMG's, your opponents will start dropping like flies.
Oh, and I foregot about the RPK. I use the RPK whenever I can, which is whenever I'm on MEC. If it were an unlock I would probably use it all the time, it has everything good and I don't know if its just me but I only shoot it with the iron sights up. I find it a lot more accurate rather then just shooting at the enemy without iron sights.Comment

No, you can perfectly shoot it without using the iron sights. That gives you the advantage of a better overview of the battlefield and faster movement.Well, like I said I don't have that much time with the M249, so please correct me if I'm wrong which you did.

But I guess thats just personal preference...

As far as i remember, the RPK is far more accurate than the M249I just went through a quick maths test, and hes correct.
Both accuracy and DPS wise, he took his info from actual in game stats. Available at BF2 wiki at
Also the reason why I prefer the SAW. Burst firing is stupid for LMGs, I just set up an ambush at the correct distance, hold down the trigger and unsuspecting people and rely on the superior DPS. Support weapons dont exactly work the way the should be working.Comment

If you only shoot in single shots, yes. But thats not how SAWs are used. Someone made an accurate analysis and came to the conclusion that past a certain round fired, M249 becomes more accurate than the RPK. Basically, RPK is only better if you resort to sub 5 round bursts. Some of us prefer the SAWs to be used in full auto mode, and for that task, M249 is far superior both DPS, aswell as accuracy wise.
The guy was right, you were wrong.Comment

Wait... Did you just say that the RPK is not accurate after firing multiple rounds..? Coz last time i used it it felt like i was using an aimbot. I was lying in a middle of a street holding down my fire button and somehow i hit everything i aimed at.. And when i try to do the same thing with the SAW, it goes all over the placeComment

None of them is. RPK however reaches that point faster than M249 does. Hence M249 being overall, more accurate, if used in full auto mode.Wait... The only time the RPK would become more accurate than the SAW under the same conditions would be after firing both for 11 rounds; the RPK would then be at its maximum deviation but the SAW would continue to increase deviation until 20 rounds. Most of these accuracy differences are pretty small though unless you are firing at very long range; it's easily possible for someone more skilled or familiar with the less accurate wepon to out-shoot someone with a more accurate weapon.
Improving your stance (going to crouch or prone) will also wipe out any difference in base accuracy; it makes much more difference with support weapons than most other weapons. The least accurate LMG crouched will out-shoot the most accurate LMG standing and the same is true of prone vs. crouched.
I also like the HK21 and SAW because of their huge ammo capacity compared to the others.Comment

one to four, i rate
1. mg36
2. pkm/m249 saw
3. pkm/m249 saw
4. rpk
pkm and saw are in the same sort of category, one onlygood for long range (pkm) and one only good for short range (m249 saw)Comment
