New Weapons Please

I would love to be able to mod CoD4 the way Keyelite mentions. I used to do it all the time as well in CSS, bikini hostages and tricked out weapons.

Sure there were some hack-related skins/mods, but the people who used those tended to hack anyways, so it's not like it really promoted hacking and misuse.

It's not possible in CoD4 though - at least to be able to play with your own individual setup of skins/mods on a public server.

Is modding weapons okay? I know in CS:S its fine in pubs, not fine in competition. I know having a tricked out m4, sideways glock, camo AWP, or even different player models like security guards, etc. will make you try the game again if you are tired of the current weapons. Different sounds/models, but same statistics.. works for me!

That shiz is for scrubs... But if thaats the direction your going in, then yes, skins and mods are mad fun.

I've only experimented with modified skins for a CS:S movie that I never made, it's incredible on how much customization you can do if there is a large community that behind it.
Operation Flashpoint had the same thing, but actually had an incredible amount of custom vehicles, maps, weapons, ski%2, campaigns, etc.
If the community is huge for such a game, there should be serious consideration for something like this to prolong the replay value of the game.

Why is it for scrubs by the way? People who compete will obviously not use them, and since the majority just play to have fun.. this should increase the replay value for them.

Because we have no way of knowing if your using skins to cheat... so skins = badness.

But I do compete... and anyone who doesn't compete is a scrub. :P

Rofl, it looks the same on 360, if anything it runs smoother... At least in MP. In SP I jacked the graphics up on my PC to everything being maxed out, and it looks great, but for some reason the xbox still looks clearer...

I get around 80 FPS with the rig I have... all highest settings and 1680*1050 resolution :)

Although it looks very similar on X360 in my opinion.

If you're using an HDMI connection on an HDTV, then the Xbox360 version should look almost as good, or the same, as a high-end PC.

Yeah thats the only reason why I would oppose it. If there is someway where IW could be involved with the community to take the best of what they see and include it in patches for everyone. OR, if possible, to develop custom modification system where it can be filtered out to the default content depending on what server is set to (customization allowed/disallowed). Nothing is essentially overplaced or modified, but the game calls on any new "content" it sees if the server enables it.

There are different types of modifications too. You can have modifications affect weapons/skins for only first person, or even third person. If a system like this is allowed, you can toggle first person only, etc. to eliminate enemies in orange jump suits or such. Worth a shot to figure out a solution I'd think.

for some reason it just seemed to look better in the pic
