Have you ever played MSFS? It can be very realistic, to the point that you can gain working knowledge of getting a real aircraft off the ground and fly.
If you try the bunny-hopping, prone-flopping of BF2 in a real situation, you will die. Probably before the enemy even shoots you.

P.S. Microsoft flight simulator has also been classified a game.. that doesnt mean its not a simulator..

SIGH i sick of this. Battlfield is NOT a simulator. It is not a FLIGHT simulator, it is not a GUN simulator, or a TANK simulator, its not even a TEABAG simulator. It is classified as an ARCADE shooter. There are games, and those can be broken down into genres, and sometimes those genres, (such as racing, flying and shooting) can be further broken down into either Arcade or Simulator.

Arcade- Doesn't focus on reality. Focuses more on fun, simple gameplay. Easy to learn, easy to play. Unrealistic most of the time. Examples: BF2, Need for Speed, Ace combat, Tony Hawk
Simulation- Has an almost obsessive focus on reality. So many options, and controls that you have to read the manual to figure out what everything does. REALISTIC PHYSICS. Examples: maybe CoD4 (dont know havent played it yet), Grand Turismo, MS Flight sim, and skate (skate is more of a sim than Tony Hawk)

Still not convinced? Let me ask you this: Do you have to adjust flaps while you are flying in BF2? What about calculating wind and gravity and distance while you are sniping with an adjustable sight? Do tank shells and AT rockets sometimes bounce off of other tank armor or sometimes not explode? If you get shot in the leg, can you still move, and run, and jump? Can you be revived after taking a full shrapnel blast from a grenade? or a headshot?

BF2 is not a simulation, its an arcade game. Nuff said.
