There is a long history of free content for the PC platform, so the industry pundits are predicting that IW will release this as "free" content.

a perfect example is bf1942. every few patches they'd give us a new map for free. coral sea, aberdeen, twin rivers, battle of britain.

everyone loved it too. people played those maps combined more than any bf42 expansion (road to rome and secret weapons)

honestly expansions usually fall WAY short of the original when it comes to fun factor and originality (though the latter should be expected)

Those were some of my favorite maps for BF1942!

I bought every expansion/booster for each Battlefield game and they just never really "extended" the community very much. I'm a firm believer in giving the maps away for free so that everyone can play.

I'm interested in seeing how EA's BF:H works out with the micro payments for non-essentials. That could be the way of the future. It keeps a small cash flow open to the devs to pay for ongoing development while keeping the community barrier-free to enter. Got an extra buck or two? Let's go buy a new pilot's scarf...

yep same like in bf2 whit (highway tampa) love this map so much the hole tank battles are great. Not rly waiting for bf heroes i think they could spend the time in bf3 instead it. Speaking about bf3 DAMNNNNN cant wait for that sh!.. it drives me crazy. :yay:

yes BF2 also brought: wake island, jalalabad and highway to tampa, however I have yet to play the later since I havn't patched my BF2 in ages.

you dint play highway tampa yet ???? that map is f great i play it all the time .

Sadly I haven't got round to it yet. My friends started playing 2142 so I was pretty much always playing that after it came out and then well COD4 .

Thinking of playing bf2 again right now since COD4 is a little stale for me. The patches are putting me off though. Their track record with patches is lets say on the darker side of disastrous

you only need one patch 1.41 it s like 500 mb or something. And highway tampa is 30 mb.

Doesnt look to bad, neither too good, i want to see more of it then i can decide, maybe more cover.
