New computer, like a whole new game

Well, I got this rig, and I can't play online. Because I don't get more then 15 FPS, what's up with that?

Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz (2 CPUs)

1024MB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT 256BM

Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519)



It's just sad, before I had a 7600GS and it ran better then this. And I don't see how that's possible.

Then you have a seriously disabled 8800gts if you can't get rid of it for $100/£50...

Mine performs the same as a 8800gt. I has it OC'd to a 640mhz core, 1000mhz RAM and i can't remember what i got the shaders to. Get some manual overclocking going. Agreed, stock, they aren't that amazing anymore, but a lot better than most people have at the moment.

i got mine just about at the same thing. its fast enough for me and plays every game on max setting with A4x(expect crysis.....)
How do u change the shaders all i see is Core Bus and Memory Bus

the pc i am playing on is powerful enough to run at the best settings. i find that some of the graphical settings like depth of field, can actually make it harder for me to see enemy.

As some of you might have noticed, I haven't been on in a long time... this is due to having no PC, but now I have a shiny new one, specs:

Intel (I feel like a traitor) E6750 2.66GHz with a 4MB L2 cache
8800GT 512MB
2GB RAM (woulda had 3 but I can always add more later)
A nice fatty 700 watt PSU
And a "small" 160GB hard drive (I've never had more than 80, so this is a lot for me)

The game runs well with all settings maxed, and it's absolutely beautiful!

It really is a whole new experience, especially on the ship on the first level when the heli attacks and there's the explosion and omfg I can't type fast enough to keep up with my brains!

Thats almost identical to my PC (I think ur HD is a little better tho) :P I know what you mean as I went from a sucky comp to an uber one when I played BF2.

I overclock through Rivatuner and it allows me to overclock the core and memory frequency. However, if you click a box, it unlinks the shaders frequency slider from the core frequency, and you can OC that separately.

I know what you mean; 7600GT to 8800GTX is a big transition!
