    fire rate poll

This game absolutely NEEDS a fire selection button. By fire rate selection i am referring to a semi-automatic fire mode for all automatic/burst sub-machine guns and assault rifles. For me it would improve game play ten fold. discuss

    Agreed!

A most huge and basic feature of modern assault weaponry is the fire selection, but it is not included in game...

I doubt they'll change it for this game, but it is a very good idea.

I have to agree 100%,but most people in this forum say some weapons at full auto would be unfair.

He means that you would have an option of shooting all weapons in one-shot mode (like BF) not the other way around.

I really like this idea. Unfortunately the maps are so small so you'd rarely use it. I would like single shot for M16 a lot though.

Ya, i changed the post to make sure people understood that i am referring to full auto and burst sub-machine guns and assault rifles. I am talking about adding semi automatic, not adding automatic.

i disagree with that statement, when pertaining to weapons that have high recoil especially. even in close quarters, with one to two bullets killing, it wouldn't be a huge disadvantage.

They'd also only be useful in HC, or they'd just be like weak G3s.

Would love to see this in CoD4 but I don't think they will consider it, im pretty sure this would have been one of the things they would have considered on the drawing board but they probably came to the decision that it was a lot easier to make it so that the fire mode was set in order to make keeping the weapons balance a little easier.

Biased poll. I will say NO.

The game is too small to begin with, so giving the m4, lets say, semi, burst, and full-- will just completely change everyone's views on all the weapons. Why can't anyone learn how to tap their mouse? It's really not hard, I promise.

The bias view is a bit different in polling here, theyre kinda fun to read.

I said no as well. Tap the mouse. (that sounds bad)

and why is the changing view of weapons, a bad thing in any way? counter strike stayed the same because people didn't like change, that game was terrible. the us political system has stayed the same because people don't like change, and how fair and balanced is that?

sure its easy to tap fire with an mp5, but some higher rof guns are painfully hard to tap fire with. the game is too small, but what does that have to do with the thread. look its really simple, i see an imbalance in the ranked progression system because i perfer semi automatic high caliber weapons. you only get those weapons after a good ways into the ranks. it would increase game balance to start out being able to use semi auto.

CS is one of the most popular FPS games on earth. TO THIS DAY.

People to listen to US politics anymore either and there is a secret revolution that started a few years ago.

I use a G5 laser mouse. Try it out, its smooth as buttah.

What's the point I mean really there is not point to it.

If you are playing soft core single shot will mean you will lose 99% of the time to sprayers even if your far away due to the accuracy in this game.

In hardcore, you would lose again since you would need to be extremely accurate to stop someone spraying and one bullet clipping you.

I can honestly say I don't think there are any situations where it would help... Apart from saving ammo, but you can just pick up another weapon?

Still I voted not bothered because I wouldn't use it personally but I don't care if others do, more easy targets for me.

Having a one-shot mode sounds like a good idea on the surface, and I also wanted it when the game first came out...however, I think very few players would use it outside of some specialty servers, or clans that like the old-school feel of FPS games from the past. The high-volume, spray shooting methods dominate most COD4 servers right now. I'd like to have the option there though.
