fraps files are so large because they are raw AVI files. Put the fraps footage into any editor and the final video size will be determined by what type you choose, ie divx, wmv, mpeg and so on.

ok, I started messing around with sony vegas. I am rendering clips from footage, but was wondering what format is best to use? i.e .avi, mpeg...etc and also quality and template (i.e. NTSV DV...?)

I save it as an AVI. then use divx converter to change to divx because thats what i used for stage 6, but now stage 6 is going down I dont know what to use :S

you tube will take any format and convert it to mp4. If you use mp4 then you they dont convert it and the quality is usually better.

Use NTSC if you are planning to DVD it and want some quality. Use AVI if you just plan on havin on yer comp.

Ok, I have decided to use actual in-game footage, than battle recorder for my first video.

Shall i keep the sounds and put a soundtrack over it? or mute the in-game sounds and have the soundtrack only?

Thats all up to your personal preference. Some of my videos keep the ingame sound, some don't.. It depends on the music and type of video.

You could mute the sound and only occasionally blend it in. For example in cool situations, lower the music volume and blend in the sounds of BF.

At any rate, if you are going to put in sound LOWER ITS VOLUME. Having the sound and music at equal volume is a very nasty blend.
