So, do you think it would be better to play through HL1 first then start on HL2?

Alright... I'd buy the game no matter what. Hands down. :)

Look under the couch coushions, check some local arcades, and search the floor of your car to come up with the money for Half-Life because it is definently worth it if you want to know AND experience the story.

True, but it is still worth the money. Again, you have to remember that it was considered a good game back when it came out including graphics and all. Story wise, it still beats a lot of the games out there. :)

So, here's the deal. Buy HL1 (and the expansion packs if you want to). Then after you played the whole thing and beat it, once the Black Mesa: Source mod comes out then you should download and play it because it is basically the whole HL1 game, including multiplayer and everything made with the Souce Graphics Engine and it's gonna be off the chain.

There are even mods that are accomplishing the same thing with the two expansion packs for HL1 called Barney's Tales (for Blue Shift) and Operation Black Mesa. (for Opposing Force)

The mod that should be done first is Black Mesa Source so definently check it out. Click on the names of the mods to see either their website or their page on moddb.com!

I bought HL1, quite some time ago. I must say its quite good, but I have a terrible habit, where I play through half of a game, then just lose interest and never finish it

I'm hoping to have finished HL1 to HL2 Ep. 2 by the end of the year.

They're going to be classic and the graphics will really bring the originals to life!
