Defiantly go with Nvidia, ATI has gone to sh*t since the merge with AMD. I used to love ATI until I had puchased 2 of there cards which could not even put up a fight with my good old trustworthy X800 XT -PE , but the X1950 XT is supposed to be a good DX9 card if you can find 1 reasonably priced & have a good enough power suppy !

Dont see why you got a P4, but yer, with a core2/2gb or ram i would think that would go pretty much flat out on bf2.Comment

The 3870 is a different kettle of fish and will stomp all over the X800 series. Not quite as fast as the 8800 but cheaper.
