You know what, Im going to help you. Ive got some serious leverage over him now, and we can use it to our advantage.

And LaikaSB, picture Bruce Willis in "The Siege". Im that kind of guy. Hardly someone suitable for a leadership spot around an interweb forum.

We tried to get one going but we couldn't rely on enough people to contribute...

o ok... by contribute do u mean people to give donations to keep the server going or do u mean not many people would join the server and play?

            Ca$h.

Servers are cheaper nowadays so we wouldn't need as many people.
The problem is, a lot of people have moved on from BF2 so they won't want to help pay for a server..

Getting it populated isn't much of a problem if you have enough people on the forum to go on it.

Depends on the size of the server, and where in the world it's placed.

A 64 player server in the US will cost ~$60 per month
A 64 player server in the UK will cost ~£60, which is basically double the price as the US one.

It's generally around £/$ 1 per player slot though.

I will contribute up to 20% of the total monthly server costs if you make it a 32-player airmaps server.

Wow. What's the logic behind that?

Hmmm, there are a few people who seem interested. I'll make a new thread, see if we can get something going.

It's probably just companies taking advantage of the exchange rate to squeeze some more cash, I can't imagine it being that much more expensive to host servers in the UK.

Nope. Everything is more expensive. Hardware, the ISP, security, the data center. Everything.

That is why total prices in the UK are about ten quid more a month.

Yes, I could imagine it being more expensive to run..
But we're talking double the price, which seems to be a bit crazy to me.

Anyway, I think a US east coast server would be the best option.
