Helicoptor bullet magnet!!

Had a few games recentlly on stock maps, and kind of having a sneaky feeling confirmed.

When the enemies heli is up and you are scoring well, you seem to be a bullet magnet for the heli.

Seen this so many times on kill cam now, where i'd be sitting in the top 3 score wise and running with a crowd of 3 or 4 guys across open ground, then be the only one picked off by the heli, even if I'd have better cover.

Dya think there is some algorithm somwehere within the helis code that selects the higher scorers to nail first.... or am I being mad paranoid :laugh:

Feel the same sometimes. I am at the top of the leaderboard, having a good time, and the helicopter headshots me from the other side of the map, while all of my teammates are much closer to the chopper -> easier victims you might think.

Or it's just random and this happens to everyone sometimes.

The chopper always gets me. And in HC it's worse. If it manages to kill 1 person before it gets shot down.. it's me.

I could be standing in the middle of a group of 4 and yet it kills me then pisses off to the other side of the map. I re-spawn and its waiting for me again =(

In my case it is similar to standing in the middle of a field yelling "shoot me" and throwing $100 dollar bills in the air, having a hot tub filled with hookers, and painting myself like Mel Gibson in Braveheart.

When really I am in a tunnel with me head between my legs attempting to kiss my sorry *** goodbye. Yes, it does track out people only from totalcod4.

I think it's simply circumstantial luck in combination with an unhealthy ego. It's frustrating, but if you look at the leaderboard while the heli is going about its business, you'll be hard-pressed to find a pattern relating to skill and chance of being chosen by the heli.

It's just dumb luck, positioning and your bias/rationalization.

Perhaps my statement is based on my personal experience of 3 dys and 20 hours playtime and seeing this happen in a pretty regular basis.

Though perhaps it is an ego thing. For more insight think I will check in the next couple of games the kill message from the heli's relating to player scoreboard position.

How about some of you guys check it out now and again and feedback.

I wouldn't be surprised. I'd love to think I'm man's gift to COD4, but I somehow really doubt that's the case!
