Music is so good, it's even in Multiplayer. :p

When you haven't had any sort of contact for quite a while, a track plays. :)

Example is that Rihanna's Please Don't Stop The Music was out for like 5 months here and two months later i discovered it and made a few remixes of it, people started to listen to it suddenly and one of my remixes became very popular on my school.
The only soundtracks I`ve really liked and which stood out to me are Hitman: Contracts`, Hitman: Silent Assassin`s and SC: Chaos Theory`s. Those are the sh!t imo.
Now when I think about it, I can`t remember a single score from any FPS I`ve played, only 3rd person shooters and RTSs.

I also keep forgetting entire bars of music from parts of the game - is it the best, and most memorable (time will make me remember it, four years after 007 Everything or Nothing, I sure do remember EVERY bar for over 10 missions)? It is average, however the key is placement, and timing. It is in the right place, at the right time. They don't just play a random piece of music for no reason, each piece has its purpose and correct place.

CoD4 music is not written by Harry Gregson Williams. Its composed by Stephen Barton. Harry Gregson Williams has a very obvious Zimmer-ism in his musical pieces which lacks in CoD4. Personally, even though I have a CoD4 rip in my computer, CoD4 soundtrack generally is just as cheesy and weak as CoD4 single player. Two of the best tracks Ive noticed so far, are Bog and the intro menu screen music.

It's great for the single player campaign, but annoying in mp, so I disabled it.

I like it in MP. On hardcore it can get a little quiet at times

The Charlie Don't Surf music, if you don't remember that then you need your brain checked, it's the OpFor victory music! =D

Those of us who played the demo over and over again out to remember this http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8Hn5uz...eature=related

the whole COD series is scored well.

the tom clancy games have quality music too. hell i still have all the original rainbow six and ghost recon soundtracks somewhere on my computer.

when a game has quality music it just adds to the feeling of the game. take halo or Republic Commandos for an example. both of them had a good amount of music, like the COD series, which just added to the immersion.

Nothing will ever replace bioshock for me though.

I must admit that I like the Bioshock music. It sounds appropriate and really helps make the game 'immersive'...

I know, when I played the demo I went back to that part about 50 times just to hear it again.

Music in Bioshock is definitely great, CoD4 doesn't come much behind it though.

But the best game soundtracks in my opinion are the ones from Heroes of Might and Magic 2 & 3 though.
