the physics in this game are pretty good compared to CoD4 actually. That is one of the reasons why i have gone back to playing this game. The character animations in CoD4 look kind of trashy.

If you were moving forward in the FAV and shot the Pilum in the same direction, the speed of the Pilum round would be the total speed of the round + the speed of the FAV.

well but i think if you were going to fire an anti vehicle weapon out of an FAV you'd probly want to be able to guide it.

Ok example i was driving my fav in my mod as my fellow bot saw a walker behind me, he launched his pilum round but WTH it moved backwards following my vehicle and eventually speeding up moving backwards. Strange huh.

          ooh btw 1000 posts

I thought the pilum was a rifle. i.e. not a rocket launcher so it wouldnt accelerate, just hit its maximum speed straight away after being fired

Exactly. It's designated H-AVR, for Heavy Anti-Vehicle Rifle. I don't know the physics of the effect of a moving vehicle on projectiles, but in the game they probably don't apply. I think if a Pilum travels at x speed, it's going to whether you're standing still or travelling at top speed. Real life physics don't really mean much in game. (Which is why a walker can unload all its rockets around you, and you won't take an ounce of damage. )

Anything will have to accelerate to reach a certain speed. It may not be significant, but it will have to.

I mean the bullet wont accelerate after its left the rifle. It doesnt have a rocket on it so there's nothing to make it accelerate further, it just hits it maximum speed as soon as it leaves the rifle.

But again, in-game, I don't think it does accelerate. The designers have only admitted to rocket launchers and TV missiles having any acceleration. So I think every other weapon always fires at top speed.

Oh well, that is fail physics.

                      I can't think beyond that.
