I just upgraded my computer (although more precisely completely rebuilt).
Here are the specs:
Intel Quad core 6600 2.4
Corsair 2 GB DDR2
8800 GT
Vista 32-bit
SB X-fi
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
500GB ATA Seagate HD
Running everything on high 1600X1200
Problem:
Everything seems to run fine at first. The framerate is silky smooth. But as I play it begins to "hitch" about every 30 or so frames on average. It's not lag as it kind of pauses then goes back to normal, as opposed to just being bouncy. I've noticed the hard drive light on pretty consistently. But my memory rarely goes above 80%.
Every other game on my system runs fine. Just not BF2.
Things I have done:
All drivers and BIOS are updated.
Tried WinXP compatibilty mode.
Running with admin privilages.
Minimal background programs.
Reinstalled all programs.
Updated PB.
Any ideas on what might be bottlenecking this thing?
