It works wonders for me, which is practically what I've been saying in every thread related to Snipers with ACOG...
Barret + ACOG = Lose? :'(

No reason to use the Acog on a sniper... the regular scope is more accurate, and easier to use anyway.
I too tried the acog on the Barret, it basically takes the sniper rifle right out of it, and turns it into... Something insanely inaccurate.:hmm:
It's teh bad.Comment

i actually like the acog with the barret, and any sniper really
sure u lose some range, but i dont really notice
i usually put 2x tap with the acog 50 cal and use quick succession of 2 shots
u kinda dont really even use it as a snipe like, u know settle and shoot, i find that its more effective for meComment

You don't *actually* lose range. The bar goes down because the ACOG has less zoom, reducing your ability to make those long shots with precision. The same goes for the range bars on the assault rifles and SMGs. The actual range of the weapon doesn't go up, but with the zoom of the ACOG, you can make those longer shots. That's the theory, anyway.Comment

The ACOG changes three things in a beneficial way.
- ZoomFOV (The Zoom Field of View. A lower number means a narrower vision, and the ACOG has a higher number than the sniper rifle - This is a VERY good thing for a sniper rifle. Tunnel Vision SUCKS for sniper rifles.)
- adsSway(name)Scales (How much it will prevent you from swaying, only ACOG provides this. - This is the main bonus for the ACOG.)
- adsTransIn/OutTime (How long it takes you to zoom. ACOG's take less time. - This is a small inconsequential bonus, it's a fraction of a second.)
The ACOG changes one thing in a bad way.
- aimAssistRange (How far your rifle will actually zoom from hip to sights. - Big detriment to sniper rifles, but it doesn't really matter to most other guns.)
- ZoomFOV (The Zoom Field of View. A lower number means a narrower vision - This is a bad thing for anything but a sniper rifle.)
The ACOG also changes two things in a big way, although they might be bugs.
- The ACOG gives the M40 an extra 5 "Base Damage" (Naturally this makes the ACOG the addition of choice for the M40 for obvious reasons.)
- The ACOG with the R700 increases the Hip's Visual Recoil (Not actual recoil) that shows up on your screen to a whopping 105 degrees when it should only be 5 degrees! (This means it'll jump all over your screen when shot from the hip.)

Eventually I'll get this information up on the site...
Until then. I need sleep. Sorry guys, I've been overworked lately. v-vComment
