Let ppl use whatever they want.
I agree that the G36E is the best gun in the game.
Personally I switch kits a lot and I also switch weapons a lot.
I'm able to use any weapon of any class with just one exception: L85A1!
I know and I see a lot of ppl pwning like crazy with that gun, but most of the times I find myself prone, in single shot, scoped, trying to hit a non moving target and not hitting once. I would say: I cannot use the L85A1. And I see nothing bad in it. I can use other weapons.
So I kind of understand your friend who maybe has the same problem with the M16. Allthough I must say the the M16 is a great gun.

I don't think the stock weapons are bad at all. There might be some that are not as good as the unlocks but I think it's just personal preference and so for every player different.
It's always good to be able to use a larger range of weapons. Never focus on just one weapon.

Btw, I don't think the G36E is noobish. The most noobish weapons are imho: claymore and artillery. There's no skill required to kill with these. The only skill would be to not teamkill to much ;-)

tbh only noobs use that gun, Ive bene playing with some good infantry players and none of them use the G36
So if you're getting owned by a player using a G36 then that doesn't matter because he's a noob because he uses that gun? If using the G36 is what he wants to use to get kills and it works then he isn't noob.

Calling someone a noob because they use a certain weapon on the other hand is very much noob.

As for the weapon itself I was sitting on top of a building keeping guard on our teams spawn on Fu Shu Pass. When I spotted a bad guy sitting on the mountain with a sniper rifle. He got the first round off and scored a non head shot hit. I managed to zoom in and pick him off with the G36 with two bursts (six rounds). Any other weapon (excluding a sniper rifle) I doubt I would have made the kill before he managed to tag me with his second shot.

Sounds like a balance "feature" EA might put in the next BF game, to go along with the lack of widescreen support.

Yeah but Chris. If you had a test where you took away players joysticks the results would be much less drastic than where people who only used the G36E couldn't use it anymore.

Take away a medic whoroes G36E and 90% of the time they melt and can't do jack.

any player that can only use 1 kit isn't that great of a player. i can use almost every kit except engineer. (god i hate shotguns), and when i'm medic i'll only use the G36E if im on USMC because i don't really like the m16 or the other unlockable (can't remember its name, but i do have it unlocked). when i'm on MEC, ill use the AK-101 for sure, and most of the stock guns, except sniper. i don't like the SVD, l96a1, ftw.

I can use every single kit/gun in the game well, but its not like they handle all that differently other than LMGs, snipers, and shotties.

Not really. If I took away your M16 and made you play with a handgun only, youd melt too. Doesnt mean youre less skilled, which youre trying to make them look like. The fact that they aim at you and can hit you, relying less on luck and more on their hand-eye coordination (skill) proves you wrong.

What does it mean though if you could hold your own with the handgun :p?

You've always been a tough opponent in these arguments Chris and I respect your opinion. But this time I think you're wrong. You can't reasonably say the G36E takes more skill because the bullets go where you aim. Every gun requires you to aim at a target and click. With the G36E the bullets hit more often cause of the unfairly low deviation the gun has, either way around the player with say the pistol or the player with the G36E, after a certain point of playing become relatively good on keeping their cross hair regardless of the gun they are using. So at a higher level the G36E takes less skill because it has quite a bit less deviation with no negative side effects to it.

I wouldn't have an issue with the G36E if it had a negative effect to using it like the G3 does. The G3 has immense power and reasonable accuracy but only 20 shots, and no grenade launcher. The G36E has high power, high accuracy, and no effect to its clip capacity. Its not fair that a gun as effective as the G36E should have zero side effects. Especially if you take into consideration the user can also heal himself, which is something no other class in the game can do, AND has grenades.

g36e should be a assault gun.

To answer the first question... a person who has skill in many aspects of the game but not to the same level as a person who exceeds in one aspect of their game means that the person with a variety will be at a disadvantage.

Using the g36e suggest the person using it is at public level and will thrive at a head one fight due to faster rate of fire and more accuracy. This means that if people dont fight the g36 on these terms suggests they can play against its weakness.

chris redfield is correct, not every1 plays with every gun and if you take away their primary weapon they will always be able to use what they know but will obviously perform worse. And a pistol is a brilliant example of this.

In conclusion to my random statements... if you both use g36e and see who is best, then that person is the best using g36e. You cant look at someones skill unless you compare one aspect of your game. Its like comparing a football striker with a defender, you cant do it but you can measure who influences the results more.
