You need that link for yourself as well, for taking my comment in a serious fashion.

            That's what I was hinting :p

Anyway. It's hilarious seeing people not using something because it is too good.

It doesn't compensate for a lack in skill. The G36E is what ALL the weapons should have been like. It doesn't take skill to shoot a weapon at someone and hit them in spite of huge deviation. That's called luck. The weapons with low deviation reward skill with results. Killing someone with a weapon that has a high deviation when they're using a low deviation weapon doesn't make you better than them in and of itself.

I say use whatever gun you want, I'll still kill you either way.

Actually that reminds me of a good story, I was on the USMC on Sharqi. Theres an APC spawncamping outside of cap range at the survaliance post. So I spawned in, took out my knife and charged straight at him. He backed up to hit me and backed right off the cliff going torwards the hotel, meeting a spiky fate to the rocks below :yay:

... Thus debunking the myth that you cannot kill armor with a knife.

                    Well done, soldier.

Personally, I love the G36E - you can put that puppy into single-shot mode and just pick off people with it. Perhaps I should play with the stock weapons more, though.

It's better to be an average player(Not in the top 10% of BF2) with a stock gun, than an average player with the BEST gun.

Simply logic would tell us that when you're average with an average gun you can do better and worse than normal, but pick up an even better weapon - like the G36E - and you turn into a devastator.

Where as he is only average with arguably the best and easiest gun to learn. So anything less than a G36E for him and he's going to do poorly.

                        2 reasons:

                        1. Accuracy. If I aim at something, it hits. If I mis-aim, it misses. Thus, if I am *skillful* enough to aim at my target and take him down, I am rewarded. As opposed to aiming *toward* my target and praying that the spray of deviation will take him down.

                        2. Consistency. This applies to all unlocks. Each standard weapon is different from round to round. Using unlocks allows you to anticipate the same reaction each time you pull the trigger (push the button, that is). It sucks to go in one round using the AK on full auto and in the next teamswitched round holding the trigger and getting that 3-round burst because you were still in the AK mindset.

Exactly. I hate the fact that deviation with most weapons throws chance into the mix. If I want to play a game where luck is a primary factor, I'll play Poker or Yahtzee.

L85 has insane deviation, but i still kill ppl with it in normally 1-4 shots

Each time i play i tend to play different kits, most of my kit times are fairly close to each other and i also like to vary the gun i use from time to time, mainly as it makes it a bit more interesting in having to adjust to how each gun fires differently.
when i first got the G36E i loved it, and i could hit anything with it. i then swayed away from medic for ages and for some reason i just cant seem to use it. i just never seem to be able to time the 3 burst shot right, even though i have basically mastered it on the M16. i've started using the stock weapons more frequently in all kits now, i prefer the SAW, the M4, the M16's and the M11-87 as the USMC over the unlocks for those kits. in fact the only unlocks i choose in preference are the P90 and the MG36 only when im MEC. and then the G3 when i decide i wont piss people off with the GL's
i dont really understand those players who religiously pick the same kit each and every round. the game has so much to offer in terms of different roles to play, i just feel that they're missing out. oh well their loss.
so in answer to the OP yeh i side with you on this one.
