Should there be a Marksman kit?

Hello everybody.

I just got off a few rounds of Karkand with the clan. We started USMC and went to Subrub, captured, got Square, then Train. Now somehow somebody got Suburb and a huge Sniper/Medic/Grenade whoring war began between the two flags (Subrub and Train).

So my friends and I were, Medic, Support, and me with M16A2/M203 as a Marksman. And we came to notice it would be imposssible to get up that hill as somebody with an auto/semi-auto 7.62 weapon was needed for these kinds of situations. The G3 is good for this but it doesn't have the needed scope.

My point being if you understand is I think there should be an 8th class, the Marksman kit. I'm thinking of an AK101 with a PSO-1, and M14 with an ACOG, and an SKS with a PSO-1 is need, very badly!

BTW, I do have Call of Duty 4, and I love it, but I also play BF2 cause of the clan and teamwork you get in it.

The L85 and semi auto snipers really do a pretty good job filling the midrange void between regular snipers and assault rifles. I don't think that a single shot rifle has a place in a modern BF game. It just wouldn't feel right, kinda like the g3/m14 in COD4.

SVD or Type 88 anyone...?

Did you even read the rest of my post? I am saying that the semi auto snipers and L85 are as close to a "marksman" (single shot) rifle as I would like there to be in the game. I don't count the SVD and Type 88 to be true single shot rifles, because the SVDish semi-auto snipers are in almost every modern shooter, but things like the SPR are rare.

I'd say it's a good idea. To have the sniper kit, you have to go to sniper school to prove you deserve it (must do at least 20 headshots on stationary bots at least 350m away with 1 load of bullets [30]). DM is just a spec-forces rifle with increased accuracy (same stats).

The question is, how would this kit be different from a semi-auto sniper?

My guess would be something along the lines of less recoil, less distance (higher bullet drop than the normal sniper), but quieter? Semi-auto fire, of course (after all, we are talking about essentially a refitted M16 here).

May as well just make a 9th class and call it the Newb class The kit would contain only the following:

C4 X 8
Claymores X 6
AK101 - except only Grenades for the GL attachment
Medic packs
Supply packs

Sounds about right no?

1.) PR is a BF2 mod, not a new game.

2.) Yes, that card is fine compared to a 7600GS, had one. Lite it up with Paintball when my 8800GTX came :)

3.) COD4... is very non-teamwork, BF2 has teamwork *no1 flame this*

4.) BF3 = PC

everyone says go with PR, PR is so boring its untrue, six hours to run across the mountain watching the scenery wip by, then you get to a flag and you cant even capture it without another 3 or so people which is impossible on a map of that size and the fact people just like to do there own thing anyway.

The Kits jeesum crow, the kits blow, since when in real life did you see a soldier radio in a sniper kit. "Commander: Yes i'll just fly your rifle over now" what lol, that aint reality its farfetched.

and not being able to drive unless you are a certain kit.... yes it keeps the noob factor down but its not reality...

Project Reality the Un-Realistic game..

I played early versions of PR and it was good a great game, now its been over-complicated and takes to much time when all you want to do is play the game.
