In most cases, you can see the claymore ahead of time. When in doubt, let a teammate go first. :)

C4 is almost never used as a placed charge, people chuck it and detonate instantly.

Better served with any of the other perks in that class.

The one exception people have said is when one person takes it on a team where everyone is on TS or Vent. I still don't think you need it, but in that setting, I could see the usefulness. Still a niche perk.

In huge pub matches, it's useless because the game is so fast paced.

In clan matches, even if you manage to get around a clay - using bombsquad - chances are the enemy is waiting at the other route.
