Hardcore vs. Softcore

Well another VS thread.

Answer the following Questions:

1. What do YOU prefer, Hardcore or Softcore servers?
2. Why do YOU prefer Hardcore/Softcore servers?

1. I prefer Hardcore.

2. Why?, well first of all it's easier to kill and get killed which makes you think twice before you stick your head out in the open.

Second, a HUD that gives you what you need, nothing more nothing less.
(seriously ppl how often do you actually check how much ammo you got left in your mag. and if you want to see the team score just push TAB)

Third, NO crosshair!
You don't need it at close distances and when you are fireing at stuff further away you most likely anyway use the scope, RDS or IS. + after a while you will learn to aim without a crosshair.

1st of all, you mean crosshair?
and i also prefer hardcore servers. for the same reason as you, i seem to a. do better on them
and b. i find it easier for them not to see me....
oh yeah, and my g3... third story on that building on crash i think... plant a claymore at the top, and i can have a one shot kill sniper.

Hardcore.

Less frantic running about and bunnyhopping. People who have played it for a while think more about every move they make. You analyse the possibilities as you move, it slows the game down.

Also, people complain that hardcore is just a spray and pray mode and is not very realistic. I always have to argue that if you got sprayed by an AK-47 in Iraq, you'd be killed. So why make it any different in hardcore mode.

People that think hardcore is just spray and pray haven't played it enough. Most people use the M14/G3 in the servers I play in. And seriously, if it's just spray and pray, how do you get a kill in softcore? If not spray? I played a server on softcore today, and it took me 3 shots with a Deagle to get a headshot on a guy. Seriously. And my ping was 50ish and his was about 70. That's just sad.

Also, I feel cramped with a HUD on. Makes me look at too much. All I want to do is stare at the center of my screen.

I love hardcore because, the RPD becomes a sniper rifle with a TON of ammo. Bandoleer that baby, and single fire it. You have about 400 rounds of killing power.

It also teaches you to learn how to use sound to tell where people are. I have Dead Silence on, and I turn up my volume a bunch, and I can hear people walking. Easy to shoot.

So my preference is Hardcore

I prefer softcore.

I don't know why, It's just how I started out, and suppose I haven't given hardcore much of a chance. I just like having a minimap, and I'm used to the damage in softcore. I suppose I'll eventually start playing hardcore more, but I'm just not used to it.

Give it a chance, it's a little weird to come from softcore into hardcore, but you might enjoy it. If you want, add me on xfire, and next time I hit a good server with a good skilled bunch of guys (not the bunny hopping/spraying/diving noobs that we all hate ) I'll give you a holler and you can come try out a good round on hardcore.

I also prefer Normal mode over Hardcore mode.

Why? Well, I hate being killed by a errant pistol shot to the foot for one. Also, I've learned to love the minimap in gaming.

I do check my ammo frequently because I don't always reload after firing just a couple of rounds. I constantly weigh the decision to reload depending on the current situation. In HC I reload every time I fire just to make sure I have enough ammo left because I'm not counting rounds fired in the heat of a fire fight.

I've played HC, but find I prefer the "feel" of Normal mode.

Hate Harcore - too easy to get killed - I prefer the arcade action of softcore. I want the game to be fun, rather than a grind. I also hate sitting out the death penalty, even though it is only a few seconds.

HC make the game feel a bit too much like counterstrike for some reason ... but I cant explain why

Softcore, because Hardcore breaks the balance of weapons. Normal CoD rewards SMGs with high damage and ROF at short ranges, while massively penalizing them with low damage and high recoil at range. In HC, every weapon is a 1 shot kill unless you're plinking with an MP5 across Overgrown.

Normal teaches you to aim ^^

Normal because it's the easiest to pick up and play.
