I know it's easy but every league that allow unlocks is like clan mod etc, there isn't any top league that allows unlocks, all top clans play use clan mod.

The rockets aren't to difficult to avoid but there just annoying, because it removes any skill from the game.

Before you go onto the whole noob restricitng methods, our clan was top of an all unlocks league a while back, before we played clan mod, but in all fairness when i play some public i still use my clan mod kit, herzog over rockets, funny seeing people running around with rockets as a primary weapon. Just remember you can shoot rockets out the sky, and to beat a proper clan mod player with rockets you would have to fire them from a large distance as if you get to close you will die, now from that large distance there is plenty of time for the player to run away from the explosives or even shoot them out the air.

I'll never dispute the prowess of Veritas., but come on dude, topping Enemy Down is like a premier league team dominating the conference :P

I do laugh at clanmod players who are unwilling to play against rockets though, for the exact reasons that you mentioned they're not that difficult to combat against.

I do understand your stance, but that is where we disagree. IMO this game is about teamwork, not so much your shot. It is about squad work and rezzing. Almost any mongloid can shoot something, but the rezzing, squad spawning and tactics give this game a unique edge to the CSS or CoD series.

I'd have to disagree with you there, yes anyone can shoot, but only a select few can shoot good, now clan mod players have the best shooting around, and to be honest probably the best teamwork around, there is a lot of reviving done in clan mod.

Nades are a good weapon in clan mod, because you have to be good with them, you cant just spam them as you will miss.

T0 unlocks is where the game excels, it takes far more teamwork. (it does, I know taking away rezzing can seem weird but it actually makes for more teamwork)

I disagree with the last part although I see what you're getting at. T0 would mean that each and every player would have to be meticulous about their positioning, enemy spotting etc... However IMO it brings forth an excess of limitations, like no nades and as you said, no defib. I'd say it's on par in terms of teamwork with T1 unlocks, just in a different way.

Good clanmod based teams generally adapt well to other game-modes whilst good vanilla teams often struggle to get such a strong foothold into the clanmod scene.

thats because they are good at the basics. its like a pyramid, basic shooting skills and tactics being at the bottom from which you build other less important skills.

Well, to be honest you can take your PK rockets, APM,s and RDX but if you're being out-shot from all ranges because the tier-1 players are simply sharper-shots, then you're not going to have much room to do anything in any case. You can't do much if you're not alive.

As much as you say that the emphasis is taken off the shooting, if you can't use the primary weapons in a sufficiently equal way to your opposition then you don't stand a spectacular chance of winning no matter what unlocks you make available. In a match environment, I'll take good shots and good tactics over good tactics and revive whores who just get themselves and their freshly rezzed teammates shot again.

In any case, this thread is about bragging about the best clans, if none of these apparently imba American clans TeXaS mentioned can cope with a clanmod scenario then I couldn't agree with them being spectacular... especially given a large amount of EU players wandering around public servers full of nade and PK spammers armed with a tier 1 kit and kicking ***. Good clanmod based teams generally adapt well to other game-modes whilst good vanilla teams often struggle to get such a strong foothold into the clanmod scene.

Anyway, EU = win.

so you dont like the emphasis on aiming skills with pk rockets not being around. so you think that the game is bland without rockets. thats basically what you are saying. Teamwork is a given and revives and abilities in this game do make it a deeper game that is funner to play than others but that doesnt mean that you need to have noobish easy weapons being spammed simply because they win matches.

No, I do get it. My point is "why take so many elements out of a game that essentially allows so many different weapons and tools?" I hate APM's but if you want to use them and it is legal then great. To me BF series is about choices and teamwork methods and strats. If you want to play an entirely stripped down BF then why dont you play BF1942 or BFV? There is always some guys that will cry foul when a game doesnt play to their way of gaming. The diversity of 2142 is one of the FEW elements that have people still playing the EA-forsaken game.

Obviously, I dont like CoD or CSS because of the repetitive shoot, shoot, shoot aspect. I have played BF since 1942 and I believe that by taking SO MANY built in weapons / abilities from the game, it really makes the game bland. BTW, you probably wont like Heroes with all of the wacky abilities like THROWING A BUNCH OF EXPLOSIVE DEVICES AT ONCE. /end rant:salute:

I think the point is Texas, try playing a game without PK's and see how skilled you really are :P Here's typical clanmod setup for you in a nutshell.

- Tier 1 unlocks only.
- Forced flag by flag capture rules.
- 16 player maps
- usually 5v5
- clans generally agree to no apm's, RDX or EMP

Clanmod also gives you mildly upgraded sprint over tier 1, less stamina lost for a jump, modifies some of the weapon properties and there's a few hit-register differences as well. Basically, you, your gun, your bullets, 2 nades. Strips the game down to the core element of who can aim better, none of this fire and forget malarky. Oh, and there's a nice indication of a headshot kill too. There's a niche of people in the EU that play this almost exclusively, and have done for about a year or so.... US would get slaughtered quite unceremoniously... and probably baseraped.
