The MP44 Is Great!

Maybe the gun would be over powered with the reflex sight but i would sure as hell like to see a silencer for the gun, thats the only thing i miss.

So basically what is your opinion of the MP44 and the no unlocks situation?

Disregarding the whole Baur-Of-The-Day thing, I read somewhere that the MP44 was intended as a show-off gun, like in "I can still kill you using this 50 years old POS with no attachments."

That is why it doesn't have the same options available as the rest of the ARs

Don't you normally see the iron sights even with reflex sites on though? I don't think you do in CoD4.

Depends on your scope mounts. I have a rifle that has raised mounts so I can look through the scope or underneath it at the iron sites.

Since we cant do this in CoD, I guess we have flushed mounts

MP44 is easier to use than the AK-47 due to the low rate of fire, so it makes for easier shooting. I do hate the ironsights though.

Along with Stopping Power, it's a beast if I want to fire for longer ranges.

If you're talking about the EOTech they had for that Force Recon mission, then hell yes. The reflex sight we have in MP is something you might find on an Airsoft gun. If they were going for an actual red dot at aimpoint, they should have used the one that is standard issue on the M16 and M4 builds we are already using.

I also wish the ACOG worked like it should -- acquiring targets faster and engaging them with superior accuracy to a reflex sight or iron sights.

But back on topic... yeah I wish I had my Baur back. In fact, I wouldn't mind a Baur skin with corresponding sounds and animations that I could put on my M16. But alas, I do not think there is a Baur parallel in CoD4. When I think Baur, I think a gun that takes some time to master because of an innate difficulty to use correctly, but when perfected, becomes a weapon more versatile than any others in its class. The M16 almost fits that bill, except a noob can pick it up and do decent. The G3 and M14 have the difficulty to master, but do not become the most versatile in their class (unless you use some firing rate script, which I consider a cheat.)

I still go and play BF2142 because I miss my Baur so damn much . She's named Linda. Back when I was playing BF2142 a lot, I was ranked 50th in the world with it. My Baur was like an extension of my person, an added limb issuing death, destruction, and chaos upon the unsuspecting hordes of my victims who were honored enough to witness my crotch in their face afterwards.

Why? The Red Dot in the Wiki is mounted in a tube, which reduces your view. The ingame Red Dot is a real improvement over the iron sights on many weapons.
Now the ACOG is a bit annoying, but that is a balance issue.

Im just disappointed i cant even silence it, im not great on WW2 weapons, but back in RL or in CoD2 could you silence the MP44?

There wasn't a silenced MP44 in the older COD games. Infact, the only silenced weapon I know of in the WWII COD games was the Silenced Sten, for a special forces mission.

Silencers were invented back in 1909 or somewhere around there. Invented by the son of the inventor of the machine gun, actually. You could probably have gotten one back then...

Oh and, Baur is epic win and all, but I want my Park 52 back.
