How to use the M95 sniper rifle properly

I amied at a stationery target with my cross hair right on his head, how come he was not shot? Do I hold the rifle without moving it for at least 5 seconds for the guidance o the bullet?

I usually give a second before shooting for accuracy to home in, otherwise i just end up missing.

Bad ping, yours or his, can be a factor. Or just the mentioned bullet drop at larger distances.
I can be usefull to have an additional fire button on the keyboard to not move the mouse when pressing left mouse button.

The deviation of the sniper rifle could've caused the bullet to deviate from the crosshair.

yeah it was probably a ping issue. I shot someone right in the face and even saw the poof of smoke, but he didn't die.:|:

Hit point of that rifle is not in the center of the cross. Try to search these forums, you will find some posts where real hitpoints are presented. I'm too lazy to do it for you but once you find it, it will open that gun for you like someone is putting lights on in a dark room. :) It's a God damn good rifle.

As some have said give it a second to get accuracy. Also try aiming just above the head because the M95 has more of a bullet drop then the other sniper rifles, So the further away you are the more above the head you want to aim. Here is a tutorial there are also alot of other bullet drop, and how to videos. I hope this helped

R U kidding me? Something ain't right in that video. Is he playing online at the time of the vid or is he playing "easy" single-player?

That guy's making impossibly long snap-shots. I can shoot like that (even using longer settling times) and I never hit anything at the rate he does in the video. If that's a online match, then that skill level looks too good to be true. I just don't buy it.

:hmm:

Sometimes you have to aim slightly below to left of the cross, where the -1 quadrant is. if you pay close attention to the video, you'll see him doing that a few times. You put the head in that quadrant with the intersecting lines of the cross touching the side of the head, and shot, you'll see you'll be getting a lot more shots on target.

Jesus Christ in heavens! I really can't believe my eyes! Those kills in the air did happen in online match if you've ever noticed there is a Commander VoIP icon actually appeared while he was shooting.

However I have a couple of doubts:

1) In battlefield series, when a kill is being done, a tiny cross with the name of the victim always come up but I never saw that in the video.

2) The time spent in between each shot is so short, he was doing it under such fast rate is confusing to me. Unless we are talking about a different rifle.

Having said that, I am absolutely impressed by what he did. I mean had it not because of this video I would have thought killing a pilot in his cockpit is a cheat. 2 years after playing the game I finally find out a game feature which is completely new to me.

I tried using the M95 rifle again. It' sreally nothing to do with the 4th quadrant. There is a over-riding condition though, the target must not be moving very quickly. After firing the shot, you will have to stay within the scope for at least 1.5 seconds or 2 seconds. Ironically speaking, it is sort of like a homing missile device to me. But I am happy now that I know the tricks.

Staying in the scope has nothing to do with it. It's just psychological to you guys I guess.
The only way "time-in-scope" affects the shot is when you first zoom in.
