I used to like the 1200 pump, but after doing the challenges with the 1014 auto, I was hooked. I play smaller size servers and constantly keep the small magazine topped-off. I still use the 1200, but prefer the 1014.

Today i had the most funny round in time. Inspired by this new thread, i redied a Shottie-class.
      The W1200+USP silenced
      Sleight of Hand
      Stable Aim.

Da** the fun i got outta it... the shottie just rips in close combat, and the clays give me the "Claymore" challenge and another kills. And the USP is very accurate and deadly, it was very good at its job, getting nice kills from near and from a distance, it's a great good, a very good complement of the shottie.
After testing the M1014 before, i think i like more the W1200, it's more powerful.
So the shottie has a new place on my classes.

W1200 but I like to switch between both. I have two custom shotgun classes

They both suxors. Or I do.
Whats the secret, do you need both grip and steady aim to make them hit, or what?

I did OK with the BF2142 shotgun, but here it seems hopelessly outclassed but the SMG and ARs

M1014 with SoH, it seems like infinite rounds!

It depends of the situation and/or the map.
In Vacant, it's quite useful, in other maps... i have to try.
For Shipment, Vacant, etc, those more CQC probable maps, a shotty is a good solution. In a more varied map, i reccomend an overkill combo, with something to get punch at range, and the shottie for short distance.
That or tactics... take cover, run as fast as you can, avoid obvious choke points/sniper points, etc. I saw quite a few good players with shotgun on Crash, or Crossfire... it's a matter of cover and run, and go to the enemy as fast as you can. :)

Right now I'm having too much fun with the assualt rifles and smg's to bother with shotties, lmg's and sniper rifles.
If you're good with the first two categories, to Hell with the rest of them.

                  Pump+grip+double tap is the best

I tried again on a crowded server with better ping, and had much improved results doing just as you suggested. With the auto-shotty btw, the pump-action seems to slow when engaging multiple enemies.

Does Sleigh-Of-Hand improve the speed of the pump-action?

M1014 w/ Red Dot (for the hell of it...)
                      3x Stun
                      Juggernaut
                      Extreme Conditioning

I had a lot of fun with that kit on tight maps, but I don't use it that often because I find I can do just as well or better with an AR or SMG based class.

As I said, pump+grip+double tap= enemies have no chance if youre fairly good. You can easily take on multiple at once.

Glad my help actually helped someone
I agree, the pump can be a problem sometimes with a bunch of near enemies.
In this case the semi-auto one is better.
Sleight of hand... i think it improves reloading only, not the "click-clack" between shots, i think, i may be wrong.
I'm gonna try the M1014 again after getting the 25 kills challenge with the '1200. That thing w/sleight of hand is quite dangerous. :p

Thanks for the advice, Double Tap makes the pump-action much more useful.

With double tap I can empty the magazine of the pump-action in 4,3 seconds

So that's 4 shots at 2 shots/second or 7 shots at 1.6 shots/second. And if I read the tables correct the w1200 does 1/3 more damage, so its the same damage/second but with more shells.

                                I think I prefer the w1200
